Nigeria’s Super Eagles’ AFCON 2023 Group A opponent Equatorial Guinea has announced their final 27-man squad.
The final squad was announced on Equatorial Guinea’s Football Federation’s Facebook page on Sunday, 31 December, 2023.
Among the players named is defender Marvin Anieboh, who has a Nigerian father and Equatorial Guinean mother.
Anieboh plays for Illesca who are in the Spanish fourth division.
The 26-year-old made his debut for the Equatorial Guinea senior men’s men’s national team in 2019 and has nine appearances.
Also in the final squad are goalkeeper Jesus Lazaro Owono of Deportivo Alaves in Spanish LaLiga and Jose Ndong Machin of Monza in Serie A.

Equatorial Guinea will open their AFCON 2023 campaign against the Super Eagles on January 14.
This will be their fourth AFCON appearance after debuting in 2012 as co-hosts with Gabon.
Also, their best performance at the tournament was when they hosted in 2015 and finished fourth.
