Equatorial Guinea goalkeeper, Jesus Owono has said the players showed strong spirit and determination in their clash with the Super Eagles.
Juan Micha’s side played out a 1-1 draw with the three-time African champions at the Alassanne Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on Sunday.
Despite playing on the back foot, the Nzalang Nacional took the lead through Ivan Salvador on 36 minutes.
The Super Eagles fought back immediately with Victor Osimhen nodding home Ademola Lookman’s cross from the left.

Owono, who made a number of impressive saves in the game said teamwork and unity played a key role in their performance.
“The unity in our team made the difference for us against Nigeria,” he told a press conference after the game.
“Our strength was the teamwork we showed on the pitch.”
The Deportivo Alaves goalie was named Man of the Match after the game.
