Morocco missed the opportunity to seal qualification to the round of 16 following a 1-1 draw with DR Congo in Group A of the AFCON 2023.
Silas Katompa Mvumpa came off the bench to help DR Congo earn a share of the spoils.
It was the Moroccans who took the lead when Achraf Hakimi headed home from the Hakim Ziyech corner on six minutes.
Cedric Bakambu had the chance to draw DR Congo level in the 41st minute but missed a penalty.
But the Congolese were rewarded for their perseverance when Silas tucked the ball into the net from fellow substitute Meschack Elia on 76 minutes.
Morocco move onto four points at the top of Group F following their 3-0 win over Tanzania in their tournament opener, while the DRC have two points after a 1-1 draw with Zambia.
Morocco will win the group by beating Zambia on Wednesday with DRC Congo still well in the hunt for a last-16 spot.

Interesting Afcon, don’t take any team for granted or you see shege!
This is true. No team can be taken for granted.
I disagree CS. Hakimi’s goal wasn’t a header; please check the highlights in slow motion again before reporting.
I’m very sure those of us who watched the match will agree with me….
Close call for Morocco. They were almost undone by a determined DRC.
Silas was subbed in and became a complete nuisance to the Atlas Lions.
They struggled to cope with him. It is fitting he got the equalizer.
Looks like Silas may have played himself into the DRC starting eleven.
My question is, how come nobody is talking about the Morrocan players behaviour after the game with DR Congo.
Nono how come nobody talking about the behavior of the congo player, Mbemba? So rude
