Alex Iwobi says players of the Super Eagles are psyched up ahead of Saturday’s Group D game against Sudan.
The Eagles will be in action against Sudan in their second Group D game.
A Kelechi Iheanacho superb strike earned the Eagles a deserved 1-0 win against Egypt in their opening game.
Iwobi came on in late in the game to help the Eagles see out the win.
And ahead of Saturday’s fixture, Iwobi told NFF TV the Eagles will try and replicate the performance against Egypt when they face Sudan.
“Me personally I’m always ready no matter what game it is. Obviously it’s a big competition we have already made our mark in the first game but we can’t be complacent. We are going to give the same motivation and desire in the first game and hopefully we can get the result we need.
“We are really psyched up especially that first performance but we are not going to rest on our hoarse, we are going to keep on going.
“The only assurance I will give is that we are going to give 100 per cent and fight for our country and the result hopefully we will get what we want but we are going to fight for our country.”
Also bearing his mind ahead of the weekend’s clash is Joe Aribo.
The Rangers midfielder provided the assist for Iheanacho to open scoring against the Pharaohs.
And according to him, the Eagles are prepared for the Sudanese.
“Preparations have been very good, the boys are ready, we’ve rested from the last game and we are just ready, we are prepared.”
‘We knew it was important for us to stay solid (against Egypt) stay together as a team work hard and give that extra 10 per cent. It was really good and a nice feeling for me being my first AFCON game so it was just a really nice experience and most importantly getting the three points.
He added:”Just like the Egypt game, we want to win every game. We want to take every game as it comes and that’s what we are here for to get the victory and put in a good performance.”

It’s so encouraging reading our players talking with so much confidence ahead of our match tomorrow. But to be sincere, I would love to see them do more of the talking on the field of play and we shouldn’t underrate the Sudanese.
It’s gonna be a different challenge compared to that of the Egyptians. The Sudanese will like to seat back and hit us on the counter. We have to ensure complacency doesn’t set into our play as that will be our undoing.
Looking forward to see how the Eagles will approach tomorrow’s match.
We will win tomorrow
If we play the same way as we did against Egypt or even 80 percent of it then Sudan is dead……. Egypt is not an easy team to play against, just that we made them look ordinary because of our Dominating play……..It will take a major upset for Sudan to get something out of that match from what I saw the other day…….It will take a drastic and unexplainable lose of form on the part of SE for Sudan to get anything from tomorrow’s Match.
The key to success against most teams nowadays is very simple.
DO NOT COMMIT TOO MANY MEN FORWARD.
When you send too many men up, your opponent has a chance to hit you on the counter.
If we play Sudan with the same template and intensity we used against Egypt, it’s a wrap. We will pick up 3 points.
But if we are complacent and careless, hmmmm! Anything is possible in this funny game called football!
The Super Eagles will Sudan 3:0
Aribo, Iheanacho and Awoniyi will scro the three goals.
No disrespect, but shoe get sizes.
Sudan is not a match for the Super Eagles.
The is not the era of Rhor.
There is a new sheriff in town.
Well, we have to stay humble and we should all remember Madagascar scenario.
The journey is still far and no room for complacency.
And also, our own should talk to our players not to be selfish in front of goal because it not about who score but it is all about Nigeria.
It is 3 point in tomorrow’s match or nothing.
Our own just played one match in Cameroon and the whole world addicted with the Nigerian team.
Good luck to Super Eagles. God bless Nigeria!!!
