The Super Eagles of Nigeria top Group B of the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt following conclusion of matchday-one games at the Alexandria Stadium, reports Completesports.com.
Gernot Rohr’s charges who started their campaign in the competition with a hard fought 1-0 win against Burundi top the group with three points.
Guinea and Madagascar played out a 2-2 draw in the other Group B game also played on Saturday.
The Syli Nationale and the Barea have one points each, while Burundi are without any point.
Sory Kaba opened scoring for Guinea in the 35th minute after he was set up by Amadou Diawara.
Anicet Andrianantenaina equalised for Madagascar four minutes after the break.
The Barea took the lead for the first time in the game in the 55th minute through Charles Andriamatsinoro.
Francois Kamano equalised for Guinea in the 66th minute.
The Super Eagles will face Guinea on the second day of action in the group on Wednesday, while Burundi and Madagascar will clash.The two matches will take place at Alexandria Stadium, Alexandria.
