Algeria midfielder Ismael Bennacer has been named player of the tournament at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt which ended on Friday in Cairo with the Desert Foxes emerging champions, Completesports.com reports.
Bennacer, who plays for Italian side, Empoli was outstanding for the Desert Foxes through out the competition.
He was also named the young best player of the tournament.
The talented midfielder who is expected to join Italian giants AC Milan before the start of the new European season also scooped two man of the match awards in the competition.
Also Algeria goalkeeper, Adrais Cobos Mbolhi was named as the best goalkeeper of the tournament.
Nigeria’s Odion Ighalo picked the top scorer award with five goals, while Senegal won the fair play award.

Caf MVP and best eleven is a total joke. Mahrez was more decisive than this Bennacer guy. And the CAF eleven that has no Etebo is still a magic to me! Africa must be transparent if ever they want to see progress.
