Tosin Adarabioyo hopes to be the long-term solution to Pep Guardiola’s defensive woes at Manchester City.
Adarabioyo, 22, is regarded as one of the pearls of Manchester City’s world class youth academy and has shone while on loan in the Championship this season.
And it will give City an interesting dilemma next month to see if they recall the 6ft 5in Adarabioyo from his loan spell at Skybet Championship club, Blackburn Rovers to solve their defensive injury problems at the Etihad.
No-one is in any doubt about the talent of Phil Foden but, incredibly, Adarabioyo has been at City for 17 years, has already played for them in the Champions League and if the academy system works then surely this is his time.

Bright and eloquent, Adarabioyo is full of praise for the City system and his footballing education but there is also a burning desire to make it at the top level.
“My long term ambitions are to go back to City, get my chance and then have a run in the team. You never give up on that and hopefully I’ve improved my chances of doing that this season,”Adarabioyo told mirror.co.uk.
“I wouldn’t say that they are purposely pushing but I would say that if you are good enough and if you can show that you can play at that level then you will get a chance.
“It’s a high level so you have to be world class. I wouldn’t say there’s pressure on them to bring through players. There’s pressure on them to win the league. But it’s my personal aim to make it.”

Nigeria may need this guy for the world cup. Every effort should be mobilized now to ensuring the young man commits to Nigeria today. Rohr needs him at the back more than anybody during this World cup qualifiers.
One of the budding talents Nigeria should work hard to bring to her fold.He represents the future.
Omeruo, Troost-Ekong and Semi Ajayi are in same age bracket. They will quit the stage almost at the same time. We shouldn’t allow a lacuna in our defence department.
Then the need for healthy competition comes to mind.
Young budding talents like this should gradually be infused into the Super Eagles.
As a soccer analysts and a die hard African football fan. I personally regret the fact that Nigeria lost two players to foreign countries, namely David Alabama and Fikayo Tomori. These are best Talents Nigeria has lost in recent times to foreign countries. this two footballers are world class and they would have brought something that Nigeria has never seen in SE, any other foreign born players yet to commit to SE except Adarabioyo at the moment are nothing but pretenders. I respect other Talents but I don’t think any of the foreign born players that we have been glamouring for except Joe Aribo who has shown that he’s true baller and he’s committed to course of SE going forward are better than the ones we have at our disposal at the moment. More details soon. Go super eagles, go Africa.
