Barcelona sporting director Eric Abidal has offered Laurent Blanc to the board.
L’Equipe says Abidal has been instructed by the board to find a replacement for Quique Setien and his No1 choice as a successor is Blanc.
Abidal has argued to board members and president Josep Maria Bartomeu that Blanc, as a former player, knows the Blaugrana inside-out and has the necessary big club experience after his time in charge of PSG.
Setien will stay in charge for the second-leg of Barca’s round of 16 Champions League tie against Napoli, but will be axed should they be eliminated.
Blanc has recently turned down an offer from Fenerbahce and hasn’t been in a job since his dismissal by PSG in 2016.
