Usman Abdalla, Kano Pillars’ Technical Adviser, was on cloud nine after Ahmed Musa inspired the Sai Masu Gida side to a stunning 4-3 victory over Rangers in a matchday seven fixture at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Stadium, Enugu, on Wednesday, Completesports.com reports.
Musa played a crucial role in all four goals, scoring one and assisting the other three. It was Kano Pillars’ first-ever victory against the Coal City Flying Antelopes in Enugu, and also their first away win of the season.
A delighted Abdalla also said he wasn’t focused on being the first coach to lead Kano Pillars to a win over Rangers in Enugu. Instead, the former Enyimba and Katsina United manager expressed his satisfaction with securing three vital points, which he believes have stabilised the team.

“We had to work hard, and I’m impressed with the team’s performance, especially from Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, and Rabiu Ali. They are the most experienced players in the squad, and they led the team brilliantly on the pitch,” Abdalla told Completesports.com.
“It feels great to win away, and I’m thrilled with today’s victory.
“I’m not interested in the record of being the first Kano Pillars coach to beat Rangers in Enugu. My excitement comes from winning the three points, which are very important for us.”
Abdalla added: “These points will go a long way in stabilising our team and helping us improve our standing on the league table. Remember, we lost at home to Remo Stars, which affected us negatively. Today’s result has restored our confidence as we head into the next match against Kwara United in Kano, followed by a trip to Nasarawa United.”
Before Wednesday’s showdown, Abdalla had high hopes for a victory over Rangers.
“We had two consecutive away games against Akwa United and Rangers. After losing 0-2 to Akwa United, it was crucial to get three points against Rangers; otherwise, our position on the league table would have worsened. That was the challenge I set for myself,” he said
