‘A Home To Us’  — Shehu Abdullahi Explains Decision To Rejoin Kano Pillars

Former Super Eagles defender Shehu Abdullahi has explained the reason behind his decision to return to Kano Pillars.

Abdullahi started his senior career with the four-time Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) champions in 2012.

The 31-year-old was on the books of the Sai Masu for two years before moving abroad.

The erstwhile U-23 Eagles player rejoined Pillars last week alongside his friend Ahmed Musa.

The versatile defender last featured for Bulgarian outfit, Levski Sofia.

“I’m happy to be here, Kano Pillars is our club, everyone is proud of it. It is always a dream to see us come back to where we started our journey,” Abdullahi told Kano Pillars media.

“Kano is a home to us, they always welcome us. They were always sending us messages when we were playing in Europe to come back to play. We are happy we’re here, and hopefully we’ll make them happy as well.”

He was in action in Kano Pillars’ 2-0 home win against Sunshine Stars last weekend.

Usman Abdallah’s side will be away to Akwa United in Uyo on Sunday (today).
