Red Star Belgrade sporting director Mitar Mrkela has heaped plaudits on new signing Peter Olayinka.
Olayinka was unveiled by the former European champions on Monday.
The 27-year-old joined Red Star Belgrade on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract with Czech Republic outfit, Slavia Prague.

The Nigerian signed a three-year contract with the possibility of a further extension.
“Olayinka comes from Slavia Prague as a free agent. He was the best football player there, and he is also a member of the Nigerian national team,”Mrkela told the club’s official website.
He has a lot of experience playing in European competitions, and last season he scored four goals in the Conference League and 11 goals in the championship.
“I believe that he will be a great reinforcement for Zvezda, he has the characteristics that we were looking for in a player for his position and I am sure that our team will gain a new physiognomy and strength with him.”

Our coaches do overlook this guy because he plays in the eastern part of Europe, i have mostly watched him play during European competition seasons and he has never failed to impress me, he is very versatile, a utility player and he has played against the biggest of clubsides and players in Europe. I don’t know why they always over look him especially now that we have a very very weak midfield in the super eagles.
Why are these guys making PATHETIC CLUB MOVES? Can’t they take a cue from IGHALO(MANCHESTER UNITED) and OSIMHEN(NAPOLI)
This guy’s agent/manager seem not well connected. His talent belongs to some of the best leagues and not all these east block thing. He may just end up never playing for the SE despite his versatile quality.
