Rangers International winger Silas Nenrot has exclusively told Completesports.com that Sunday’s NPFL Matchday 11 trip to Plateau United offers him an opportunity to play in front of his former fans.
Nenrot is among four former Plateau United players who moved to Rangers last season, alongside Head Coach Fidelis “The Working One” Ilechukwu, who also transitioned from Plateau United to Rangers.
Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Austin Opara, and Kazeem Ogunleye are the other former Plateau United players now plying their trade with the Coal City Flying Antelopes.
Similarly, three ex-Rangers players—Olawale Doyeni, Ebuka Anthony, and Samuel Pam—are now part of the Plateau United squad.
The situation reflects a unique connection between the two teams, with several players and coaches crossing paths, resulting in mutual familiarity.
Nenrot observes that while he is returning to a familiar setting, the presence of former Rangers players now with Plateau United, along with the coaches swapping roles, will add excitement to Sunday’s game.

“I’m a former player of Plateau United and currently with Rangers,” Nenrot told Completesports.com on Saturday, 9th November, 2024.
“I’m happy to be back home. This is my ground. It’s going to be a great game on Sunday; there’s no pressure for me.
“Both teams have great respect for each other. Rangers are the defending champions of the Nigerian Premier Football League.
“It’s going to be a very competitive match. Both teams have experienced players and coaches, and the fans can expect high-quality football on Sunday. We’re aiming for a good result here.”
Nenrot went on to discuss the impact of the two coaches, who have each managed both clubs, as well as the shared player history between the teams.
“It’s practically like a derby,” Nenrot added. “First of all, our coach, Fidelis Ilechukwu, was previously with Plateau United.
“In the same way, Plateau United’s Coach, Mangut Mbwas, was formerly with Rangers.
“There’s also a kind of player exchange—some who played for Plateau United are now with Rangers, including Ifeanyi Onyebuchi, Austin Opara, Kazeem Ogunleye, and myself, Silas Nenrot.
“On the other hand, Rangers alumni like Olawale Doyeni, Ebuka Anthony, and Samuel Pam are now with Plateau United.
“So, it’s practically going to be a 50-50 game,” Nenrot concluded.
