Nigeria’s Rivers Hoopers outclassed Cape Town Tigers of South Africa 80 points to 57, to clinch an historic third place finish at the 2024 Basketball Africa League in Rwanda on Friday.
The win means Rivers Hoopers are the first Nigerian team to win a medal at the Basketball Africa League.

It was a game the Ogoh Odaudu-led side dominated from start to finish and deservedly emerge winners.
Rivers Hoopers took the first quarter 25-8 then clinched the second quarter 43-29.
Also, the Nigerian team ran out 63-38 to finish the contest 80-57 against their South opponents.
Meanwhile, the final of the competition will be between Libya’s Al Ahly and Petro de Luanda of Angola.
