The 25-man list that has the likes of goalkeepers John Noble, Ikechukwu Ezenwa and Anayo Iwuala was announced on Sunday.
The game which will hold inside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, will take place on July 4.

Home based wailers on CSN, Congratulations!!!
22 home-based to travel to the US? What kind of confusion is this!!!??? Is he prosecuting the Mexico friendly with home-based?
For what strategic reason? CHAN? I thought these friendly were preparatories for the WCQ? Or they just training materials for this friendly only and then we go back to the regular player cycle?
And I can see the long-legged Ezenwa there. He probably has complained to his powerful godfather about the possibility of missing out on WCQ FIFA bonuses, so he had to be snucked in through the backdoor again.
Rohr might be just slightly above average (at least, manageable for now), but he’s been initiated into Nigerian brand of football politics. I sense he comprises and looks away on some underhand propositions that would probably force other ethical European coaches to rather resign like Denerby did. He accepting the imposition of a coaching mannequin like Yobo (Nigeria’s equivalent of David Beckham, who’s more of a fashion celebrity) is another example. Imagine a Mourninho in that same scenario.
The match falls outside the FIFA window so no club would release their players ,The home based are the ones going to prosecute the match.
This is purely NFF fault. And Rohr cried but they did nothing. If you read from other sports site you find out that he is not behind the list. This match will be handled by Eguavon and Igbogun, so leave Rohr out of these. Most of our foreign stars are cooling off in Naija. Abdulahi and Olayinka wedded this weekend and many were present. They really need this break.
So the Mexico friendly, is a great idea but at a wrong time and this is not the fault of Rohr, so the best he could do is to hand over the management to the coaches that know the local boys. So i don’t blame him. So if it goes wrong, he will not be held responsible. Smart move to me.
How about Mexico foreign based players.
@kel Calm down na… Did u not read that it’s the technical director that’s in charge of the selection and handling of this team and match… Must we blame Rohr for everything???
We never seen anything yet. Something bigger than this is going to happen under Mr. Amaju Pinnick time.
This is where Oga Amaju brought Nigeria to and when we patriotic Nigerians are telling you Nigerians to wake up and start telling our carbals and oppressors the truth and the reality of Nigeria situations, you keep ignoring the truth. So, don’t complain.
The only thing that putting smiles on our faces, our oppressors are about to spoil it for us.
what is the main reason for this friendly?
For world cup qualifiers or Chan tournament?
NFF, Oga Rohr and his followers are about to telling lies again.
For sure, they will say because most of the Eagles players won’t be available for the friendly. Lies.
NFF knew that the gaffer is not capable to confront the Mexican team and the only thing they could do is to use the home based players for the friendly to cover up Oga Rohr mess and to manipulates everything.
The countries around the world are enjoying their national teams playing good football while our NFF is giving us something else.
So, NFF can not organize friendly matches with the African oppositions for the home based players?
I am shaking my head for NFF. What a shame.
You hired a foreign coach that can not compete with top teams in the world and you can’t fire him because you are milking from his contract?
What is all this now?
Our foreign based players were doing their unimpressive performance against the average Cameroonian team. So, our home based players are the super star that will do the wonders against the Mexico under our world class coach abi?
Kerewa Kerewa= kerewa kerewawa.
That means the unimpressive performance of our foreign based players against the Cameroonian team would be transferred into our home based team?
Only if Mr. Eguavoen can come to rescue Nigeria against Mexico. Otherwise, this our home based team would be disgraced on that day. Mark my words.
They will come here to deceive Nigerians as usual by saying that the match date is outside the FIFA calendar while Mexico and other top teams having their main players available for selections?
Are you people kidding me?
They will come here in numbers to lies.
Did NFF and Oga Rohr ask our regular players first if they will be available against Mexico?
How about our irregular players? Did they ask if they can come to play that match?
We keep celebrating unconvincing results under Oga Rohr.
Yet, we are expecting Super Eagles to win in Cameroon?
Let’s continue to deceive ourselves and when the time comes, I will remind you all.
Most especially, Oga Pinnck and Oga Rohr deciples.
Don’t be deceived Nigerians, NFF and Oga Rohr are using Super Eagles to make money period. Where is the money given to the NFF from FIFA? Why owing the coach and players money? Why Super Eagles is average when we have desent players under coach Rohr? Why our A team won’t be available against Mexico? Ahahaha, now you know ba? Charity begins at home. We have to fix the NFF problem first then, Super Eagles coach. God bless Nigeria!!!
Shebi na u dy run around like a mad dog, always shouting that rohr doesn’t like domestic players. That our domestic league is filled with talent. That he should do like keshi, westerhorf and amodi did by inviting a sizeable number of domestics players to the eagle despite the glaring fact that our domestic league is nothing to write home about. Now he has formed a team mainly of home based players u still have the effontry to open ur stinking dirty mouth. Na God go punish u.
Hahahahha…you dey mind this one…? Person wey be say na in brain witches dey use play lawn tennis for coven…LMAO. Na this in comment make me laugh pass
“…NFF knew that the gaffer is not capable to confront the Mexican team and the only thing they could do is to use the home based players for the friendly to cover up Oga Rohr mess and to manipulates everything….”
Pls what sense is in the above comment ladies and gentlemen….LMAO.
**NFF knew that the gaffer (who confronted Argentina, Brazil, Ukraine etc) is not capable of confronting Mexico…..LMAO
**NFF want to use home-based to cover up Rohr’s mess….LMAO.
The same person that is claiming “…NFF want to use home-based to cover up Rohr’s mess because they know he cant confront Mexico.” is now crying again that why should the homebased be called up to face Mexico
Person wey don dey shout since say there are many homebased players who can play better than the foreign-based is suddenly complaining ad running scared of the idea of using homebased players to face Mexico….LMAOOOoooo.
Abeg NFF, pls dont use homebased players anymore, Omo9ja the scouter has many Agege and Ajegunle boys who are far better than both the homebased and foreign-based players that will tear Mexico into pieces come the 4th of July. Pls contact him ASAP. Infact I will recommend him to even coach the team on that fateful day….LMAO
Biko make I run go bathroom before I laugh piss for bodi….LMAO.
Lol……that guy na mugu. Biiig mugu! He’s chronically confused and stupid. I’ve never seen. Haba!!
I wonder who were the 2 people that liked the garbage this dude posted. We know that the first like came from him while the second must be from a very miserable sorry ass fellow like him. Birds of a feather…. Lol
Help us ask them. what happened to the Nigerian players plying there trade in other leagues in Africa. Politics as usual along with excuses. Just like you said, were the foreign based players consulted, was there team contacted for there release. Abeg make una no come up with silly excuses that it falls out of FIFA calendar. Are we paying the PE teacher to just be assembling foreign based players alone. Well all the best to the ones selected.
Confusion everywhere. l reserve my comments until after the match. One thing for sure, l am not going to watch the match. l am not interested. Are you?
LOOOL.
So happy to see Adekunle Adeleke (Abia Warriors) on that list. The guy is trying.I watched him played last week in Aba.
See my people the mexicans cant disgrace or mess up this team with Eguavoen in charge as the technical director.(Am not saying Gernot Rohr cannot do well ooo).Just cool down and watch these boys play.Yes NFF are playing politics because they know they are owing our foreign based players and its not helping us.Lets see how it goes
… Well. The problem is not even inviting an all homebased team. The problem is actually in the invitations… are we sure these set are really the best in the league? I hear Imama Amapakabo saying the best goalkeepers in the league are the two Abia Warriors goalkeepers… I also realized that the list is drawn mostly from just about six(6) clubs of the total twenty (20) clubs in NPFL… I did not see a single name from Lobi Stars who have been a seasoned team in NPFL over the years… also, neither Gombe United or Wikki Tourist has any contribution to the list… I only saw players from Kano Pillars, Nasarawa and Katsina United and Plateau United from up country… I hope they have picked the best and not those with connections but I doubt… Eguaveon himself is a “gather and play” coach without any real technical and tactical quality like most local coaches… Well… we go watch them see how them go dance! Goodmorning… folks!
You ehn….there must always be one problem or the other. Shuu
Leave am @Abdul. This one just wants to talk even when he has nothing to say….LMAO. He hears Imama saying the best goalkeepers in the league are in his club….pls what exactly is your point…?? LMAO. So because a coach claims the best players in the country are in his club, that makes it a given…? only his players should be called up to the national team..? So If Stanley Eguma too says same, and Fatai Osho says same, and Kennedy Boboye says same, invitations should be based on their declarations or what…? I dont really get the sense or what you are driving at. Or which coach will say his are the worst in the country…?
Because there are 20 clubs in the NPFL, ALL 20 clubs must be represented in the national team….LMAO…11 clubs isn’t enough….all 20 must be represented because England always selects players from ALL 20 clubs in the EPL and Italy always selects from ALL 20 clubs in the Seria A or Germany Selects from ALL 18 in the bundesliga….LMAO. Even Egypt that is the master of selecting homebased players in Africa does not select from all 18 clubs in their league. He is even mentioning Gombe United in the 2nd division….LMAO. Never in my life have I seen such a chronic ethnicist. All of a sudden the list is bad because there is no Lobi stars player in there….LMAO….yet he cant mention the name the lobi stars player(s) that should have been invited.
Someone who has zero knowledge of the league is here complaining….LMAO…imagine listing Gombe Untied…LMAO…just because he wants to champion his middle belt ethno/regional sentiments as usual. I dont know why some people cant just remain seated in their parlors and let those who are paid monthly to do a job do their job in peace.
Thank you jare, with people like you our football will regain its lost glory, especially one before amaju/rohr.The only thing they always point to, is that draw against Brazil, as if rohr,by that, achieved a great fit equivalent to winning the world cup. I totally share your views above especially one on eguavoen technical abilities as a coach.I’ve never been impressed by his technical abilities. As for those incurable critics, unconditionally cynical of home talents, may I remind them we once won silver medal in chan?Where was Egypt, south Africa and the rest other they tell us are better,in that particular tournament? Even this mexico match, what’s the assurance they won’t make us proud?
Why wasn’t Ahmed Musa drafted, abi he is not home based again, will like Dr dry to respond to that. Why can’t Junior Ajayi be drafted.
…but why are folks complaining again nah. Are our NPFL players not better than the foreign based players ni, abi no more talent (the very ones you lots have always wanted to force on Rorh) in the local league again? Afterall most of our ex-internationals ably led by Ogbeni Odegbami, Udeze, Nwosu et’al have been clamouring for a larger chunk of the SE to be sourced locally, Ngwanu! NFF just kickstarted the process now…
Hahahahaha….Gbam..!!!
You have said it all. See them all complaining. There are MANY talents in the local league….the Foreign based are overated…being a foreign based is by luck not by ability…..the core of the SE should be home-based…..Rohr does not have respect for our league…home-based won AFCON for us, they are that good….yen yen yen yen yen.
Ngwa full home-based squad is here to represent Nigeria, tori don begin change small small…LMAO. Many indeed are the afflictions of the wicked…! LMAO
If there aren’t many talents in the league… these 26 called up are they shoemakers or Gworo sellers? Lol… How do you define talent? I hope these ones listed truly have the stuff and not ones whose team managers and club chairmen can bribe NFF OFFICIALS for slots… We will see korokoro when parade thick!
Hahahahaha….maybe it is you who should define talent for us.
If all these ones that were called up are “talents” according to you, so why have you been ranting that all 20 clubs weren’t represented…? Why have you almost committed suicide because Junior Ajayi and Kelechi nwakali were not included…?
1 moment you claim they are talents, the next moment you are complaining there are no Lobi stars players in the selection…..1 moment you claim they TALENTS, yet you are “hoping” the ones listed are GOOD ENOUGH (yet they are talents o…LMAO). 1 minute you are declaring boldly they are talents, the next moment you are waiting to see Korokoro when parade thick…LMAO….so pls tell us, where then did you see the “TALENTS” in them before, before declaring they are talents…? All 26 are Talents, but you cant even vouch for them after plenty of noise making….LMAO. That is the sort of confusion you get from people who just wanna talk because they hear others talking.
Pls give us your own 26 man list of the talents you claim we have that should have been called up instead of these ones….since you are not even sure of what these ones can offer.
They will be claiming there are talents everywhere in the domestic league, all our national teams (male and female) from u17 to u23 will play, we will not see the MANY talents….All our clubs will play on the continent, we will still not see the MANY talents. But a Portuguese 2nd division or US collegiate player will play just 15 minutes in the national and your mouth will be opened agape at what magic your eyes are witnessing.
These Many talents in the local league must either be in the ground or under the Atlantic ocean….LMAO
Please where is AHMED MUSA, he shoud be included, is he not home based now, why can’t he feature in this match, or he is picking the matches he has to feature in
… This is a home-based squad drawn from just 6teams of the 20 pro league teams in the NPFL. Now take a team like lobi stars who have pedigree just like most elite teams in the NPFL, we know Ndidi Anumudu, and John Chukwudi who both were part of the Kelechi Nwakali led U-17 used to play for Lobi, I do not know if they are both still there… aren’t those two pure talents who are still very young from their timeline from Eaglets and should have made this team? Lobi Stars are currently 8th on the NPFL log with only six points separating them from the 2nd team on the log… yet, we see no player from such a team. We won’t complain but for sure we know how lists in scenarios like this are drawn up… Eguaveon and Aigbogun… two “double left leg coaches”. Anyhow… Up Nigeria!
Heartland, Enyimba, Akwa United, Abia Warriors, Rangers, Rivers United, Kwara United, Plateau United, Nasarawa United, Kano Pillars, Katsina United.
I guess those are the “…SIX (6) teams…” you are talking about. Mr Man…pls go back to bed, Or go and take some aspirin tablets.
Now you are listing Anumudu and Chukwudi, players you last saw play 6 years ago AT U17 LEVEL and DONT EVEN KNOW IF THEY ARE CURRENTLY Lobi stars players and you want us to trust your own judgement, and think your own judgement is better and more valid over those of people who are monitoring the league on weekly basis (even if they are 2 left legged).
The fact that you cant even confidently mention the names of the Lobi stars players who are better than the ones invited shows how much of a sectionalist you are. You just want a Lobi stars name there even if he isnt the best in the league in his position. That’s the sort of human beings Nigeria is rearing these days.
Mr, we are sorry, but we will trust the judgement of 2 left legged men over a cripple.
… How am I a sectional fan when it was two Igbo boys name I mentioned when I talked about Lobi Stars… even though I am a Benue man. Take it or leave it… Lobi Stars just like Enyimba has cut out a clean pedigree for itself in the NPFL… You forgot we gave Nigeria Taye Taiwo, Greg Etafia, Kingsley Elvis, Sunny Ibeji, Dayo Davis, Robert Akaruye, Tony Okpotu, Timothy Anjembe over the years… People wey the follow Nigeria ball know say Makurdi just like Jos na home of football for middle belt… yet we get sidelined always… Go and check lobi Stars finishing in the last five years in the league and tell me if they are not a perrenial top 6 side in NPFL. You know say I the talk true but the Spirit of @Dr.Drey gegen @JimmyBall no go allow you accept true talk… Why won’t I talk of Lobi Stars… afterall Tinubu wan rule Nigeria by all means even though him know say this time e make sense pass to allow Igbo man rule Nigeria for 2023…
Hahahahaha….he is beginning to lose it once again…he is beginning to fling blows into thin air hoping it will touch something. Pls what has Tinubu ruling Nigeria got to do with the topic of discussion….LMAO. Do you even process your comments properly at all before excreting them here…? LMAO
I put it to you that you are a sectionalist. This list suddenly has question marks because there is no Lobi stars player listed. Any national team list that doesn’t include a Lobi stars player or a Benue born players is always persona nongrated by you. That is when its all composed of players who bribed their ways through, but once a lobi/benue born player is there hmmm….it becomes a perfect list, no bribery involved….its based on merit…LMAO.
Tell us one current Lobi stars player that is better than all the ones invited, that should have been invited instead, you cant. Yet you are claiming the listed ones have bribed their way or that they dont merit the call up. Lobi/Benue born players were part of our last U23 national team that failed to make it to the olympics, did those one bribe their ways too..? Lobi/Benue players where part of our U20 team that failed to qualify for the U20 WC, did those ones also bribe their ways too…? Does having a lobi/benue player listed guarantee success or what…? Is it only Lobi stars that has contributed good players to the national team before that they must continue to be the ones to keep supplying players to the national team even if they arent the best on offering in their positions…? Is it by league position that players get invited to the national team or by how well each individual as performed in each position during the course of the season…? England’s 2nd and 3rd choice goal keepers played for relegated teams. Spain named goalkeepers from Brighton that battled relegation and bilbao that won nothing and finished midtable. Germany named leno that couldnt qualify for continental football over others that did. when has league placing being a yardstick to measure individual performances…?
Once there is no lobi stars or benue born player in the list heavens will collapse and we will start hearing all sorts of allegations you cant provide concrete proofs to.
When the likes of Taye Taiwo, Greg Etafia, Kingsley Elvis, Sunny Ibeji, Dayo Davis, Robert Akaruye, Tony Okpotu, Timothy Anjembe over the years were called up to the national team, was it only Lobi stars that had good players in the country then…? Where there not good players in other states or clubs too, where they called up just because they where lobi players or because they were the best in their positions back then…?
Must everything revolve around you, Lobi stars or Benue state all the time…?
If you are claiming Makurdi is home of football what should we call Lagos, Enugu, Kano, Kaduna, Ibadan, Benin (Bendel) etc. Have you heard anyone from those states complain…?
Even with all the noise you are making, you still cannot mention the name of the Lobi stars player(s) that should have been called up instead of those who have been called up…..LMAO….you know next to nothing about the local league at the moment yet you are here raising a storm in a teacup about a list that has been compiled by the technical department of the NFF that monitors the league on a week to week basis….LMAO. Mention Lobi stars starting XI make we hear…inaaaa….but the entire list is bad because there is no Lobi stars player in it.
Just to make the list look bad you even had the guts to lie to our faces that the team was drawn from only 6 clubs…when infact there are 11 clubs represented in total. If you claim team managers and club chairmen bribed NFF OFFICIALS for slots, what was your own Lobi team manager and chairmen doing when others where making hay…?
You can take a man out of a bigoted environment, but you cant take the bigotry out of him.
Once again Mr, we are sorry, but we will trust the judgement of the 2 left legged men who head the technical committee that monitors the league on weekly basis over a cripple who cannot even name the starting XI of the team he wants to commit suicide for.
It’s so sad that at this age and time the only thing and arguement against this list from someone who claims to know football and have played same is that no player on the list came from a club in his region of the country while. And after being called out, is now twisting and tweaking the narrative by dropping some names from the garbage of history whom he himself doesn’t even know whether the folks still play soccer.
Imagine if such a one is the NT coach, NFF President, the GMD of NNPC or the President of the country.
I really weep for our mother land Nigeria…
No comment until after the match, I wouldn’t waste my time to go watch the game, though is only 30 minutes drive my house,I wouldn’t allow Eguavoen and his boys to give me heart attack.
@Sunnyb
I have an idea, but follow it with care after consultation with your family doctor:
– Go watch the match so you give us feedback. It may help Rohr to end the persistent clamour to include home-based stars in the SE or change the architecture of the SE to consist mostly of home-based.
– Take 2 tablets of aspirin 30 minutes before the match begins.
– If you can set your hands on Guineas Big Stout, take a full bottle 10 minutes before the match begins.
– Make sure you go with an assistant who should quickly remove you from the stadium if Mexico scores 3 unreplied goals, as the trauma of watching the Mexicans dancing a modified “Samba” and scoring every five minutes will accelerate your heart rate rapidly and make you feel dizzy. At this time you may begin to retch and may vomit. Carry loads of vomiting bags. This is the time you should take Tylenol(ie Panadol for the Americans) for you may have raging headache.
– Ask your assistant to remove you from the stadium immediately,
-Good luck.
I support using home-based since our Super foreign based pros are tanning their bodies and making merry in holidays. So if Super huffing and puffing pros no want to disturb their holidays make we force them? If they are not available then Nigeria won’t play match again… abegi! Iwualu lead your parleys make una go dance for us joor… afterall football na 11 vs 11. Homebased stars… the floor na una own joor!
Hahahahaha…na today your day break…??? LMAO.
Should we not go cap in had begging them anymore…? Shouldn’t we go begging fringe players like Shehu and Olayinka who will be on honey moon to come and play in the middle of the holidays on a non-fifa window…?! Cant you see the foreign pros are still maintaining the same fitness regimes they maintain during the season at the beach front where they are tanning and making merry….??! Cant you see the timing of this friendly is perfect…? LMAOOoooooo……
Some pipo eye wey ogogoro block before jus dey clear….LMAO. Oya go and be writing letters to truly professional clubs to release players for friendlies on a non-fifa window, deep into the off season na……LMAO…and be hoping for which one will respond and which one will not…LMAOOoooooo…..At least, if you no sabi count, you suppose sabi write letter….LMAO
I still dey laugh oooooo…..people wey sabi pass coach.
Seems my eyes are decieving me. Please is Ahmed Musa in that list? And if not, then why?
Because of my love for Rangers I often follow them / the league to an extent ..
My pick (i.e from that list)
GK: Ezenwa
DF: Zirkiflu. Adeleke. Chris Nwaeze. Olusesi (Anaemena)
MF: Tony Shimaga Ek Ojo.
Ibrahim Olawoyin (this guy is a star playmaker by NPFL standards)
AT: Iwuala. [don’t know any good ST] Nenrot Emma (pacy winger)
Where is Samuel Nnoshiri in your line up. That boy in my opinion is amongst top two home based attacking midfielder. He’s got such exciting left foot. Also I was looking forward to see this Orok guy from Enyimba. That guy is another talent. Sometimes, I wonder how they scout for players invitation to national teams. I might be wrong though.
Interesting… Well if Nnoshiri’s good enough and better than especially Nenrot, then he can slot into AM (haven’t seen him play), with Olawoyin (who can also play either wings and is a left footer) taking his place at the flanks.
Orok is good btw but hin nor dey list curiously.
Omo I even saw a critique of the list on owngoal saying Zirkiflu (whom I would put in LB – seen him play there on TV) is an attacker these days lol Kai NPFL – defender to striker like say na age grade comp lol
Lolzzz. Has the comedy started? God help us. Anyway let’s not write off these guys. Some of them are quite talented but only not properly drilled to get the best outta dem. This is a big big chance for them to change the rhetorics. Hopefully they do.
@Dr.Drey… If you try to watch that match on July 4, your black and white with comot smoke… I promise you. Afterall the whipping for “NPFL has no talent” you have given to our dear courageous homebased Eagles… don’t come and watch our match. Wait for you foreign huffing and puffing Eagles to watch another Nigeria match. We don’t want naysayers watching our talented homebased… Lol. Go and face your Top 5 league of overhyped stars… Thank you as you comply.
Pls go and hang yourself if I do.
NPFL has world class players yet you are “hoping the are good enough to represent Nigeria” and waiting to “See Korokoro”…LMAOOooooo.
NPFL has world class players yet you were here bleating all about the place that even players from backwater leagues would be better to assemble for this friendly….LMAO
NPFL has MANY talents, yet you were pissing in your pants when Rohr insisted that home-based will be used to prosecute the match, telling us to go and be prostrating in front of the foreign based in their beach-front holiday resorts to come and play a meaningless friendly outside fifa-windows….LMAO.
NPFL has many talents yet you were telling us to throw invitation letters in the air over the skies of Europe a see the first 23 men, including Nwakali and Junior Ajayai, that will catch it and respond irrespective of where they play….LMAO.
If there is anyone who has been put to shame it is you……Hahahhahahaha…..if there’s anyone that shouldnt watch that game if he had shame it has to be you. Because from the onset, I supported the idea of using the homebased since 1. All the Europe based will be in offseason. 2. The match is going to be classed as a “Exhibition” match by fifa, since it wasnt gonna be in their window and wont count for rankings, 3. The homeboys will still be in season and will be fit as fiddle, 4. CHAN qualifiers are ahead and hence will even give us an opportunity to have a standing team that has at least played together on ground…instead running around 1 week to a qualifying game.
On the contrary it was you who rubbished the idea in its entirety, you called Rohr as sorts of names, You made all sorts of senseless and remotely impossible suggestions….ANYONE BUT THE HOMEBASED SHOULD PROSECUTE THE MEXICO FRIENDLY was your stance…. All of a sudden after they rubbed your face and your senseless suggestions in the mud, the home-based that you NEVER wanted to be featured in this friendly, the home-based that you cant vouch for, the home-based that you “hope”, the home based that your are “waiting to see korokoro” what they have to offer have suddenly become “courageous home-based”. If Rohr had been a jittery, panicky coward like you, you will tell us if they would have had this chance….LMAO…all of a sudden he wants to claim the glory. He even says “our match”….LMAO…..coming from someone who was telling us to invite players from Latvia and Belarus instead of home-based (as if players in those leagues wouldn’t be on break too or as if those countries are not also following the European calendar)…..LMAO
Once again Rohr gave you the middle finger despite all your rantings…so pls deal with it…LMAO. If anyone should be shameless enough not to watch that match, Mr. it is you.
This enemies of anything made in this country(product) shall be put to shame one day soon..
I don’t believe the two GKs selected for this match are the best in the league. Based on statistics Abia Warriors Gk is the best in the league. He has the highest number of clean sheets. Ezenwa and Noble are not among the best in the league, Godfatherism!!!
Why is the league top-scorer not on the list ?
I learnt that the worst local national coach (Pinnick paddy) in recent years will be assisting Eguavoen.Eguavoen is not a bad option but Why is it difficult to engage coaches of the top two clubsides in Nigeria.?
Will the Mexican team be composed local players handled by local coaches ?
Poor sport journalism is partly responsible for most of the challenges facing our sports.
The nff and some soccer journalists are the diminishing variables working against progress in our National teams.
On second thoughts, I think I will watch the game. I already expect the worst, so any good thing that happens will be a pleasant surprise!
If we do well, good! If e no favor us, no problem. Not for me personally, anyway.
Last last, if score reach 4 nil against us, I go switch of the TV and go find something else to do with my time.
This game represents a life changing opportunity for these boys. Knowing the Nigerian spirit, we typically don’t allow opportunities like this to pass us by. The guys will be ready to die on the field against Mexico. Who knows what doors a good performance will open for them?

…@Dr.Drey… and @Coachie… I will now address both of you. Firstly @Coachie… you can weep for Nigeria, but make sure to know the right things to weep about, lest you waste your tears for nothing. Yes… I beat my chest, I mentioned why there was no player from Lobi Stars of Makurdi… I am right to raise the question and before you called me a tribal bigot, I only mentioned John Chukwudi Lazarus and Udochukwu Anumudu who are both Igbo boys and not Benue indegenes and were both members of the kelechi Nwakali led Nigeria U-17 Golden Eaglets squad of 2015, who we all knew acquitted themselves well in that Junior World Cup as much any other member of that squad. If Nigeria was a country where continuity is upheld, it should be a no-brainer that those two are apart of the current NPFL squad list released to prosecute the Mexico game come Jumy 4, 2021. I also mentioned earlier that they were both snapped up by Lobi Stars FC of Makurdi, and that I am not sure if they were still there at Lobi Stars FC. I am happy to announce to all that those two “Igbo” talented boys are still at Lobi Stars… I have highlighted Igbo in my writeup here so that people like my friends @Dr.Drey and @Coachie who like to label me a sectionalist, regionalist or sometimes a tribal “warlord” will both be exposed for making baseless characterisations on my person. Just like now, as in the reference to making a case for Lobi Stars of Makurdi, where I have only mentioned two junior internationals who are both Igbo, and made us all extremely proud in the past, I have always believed and clamoured for Junior Oluwafemi Ajayi and Kelechi Nwakali, also both non-indigenes of Benue, to be part of the Super Eagles, because my ball brain tells me those two also rare gems. Now back to Lobi stars FC, we have a list of twenty six (26) players drawn up to camp and push for places in a final twenty two (22) list to play Mexico, drawn from eleven (11) NPFL clubs… it should be accepted that I sarcastically gave a picture of only six (6) NPFL teams at first… which @Dr.Drey was kind enough to set the record straight and helping my argument even, that the list was actually drawn from eleven (11) NPFL team. I shouted a surprise for no name from Lobi Stars as against multiple names from some clubs who are even below Lobi Stars on the current NPFL teams log of standings… people trying to say players from Lobi Stars may not in reality be as good as those listed from the other teams, even teams below Lobi Stars on the league… please how do you explain a situation honestly, where all Six teams above Lobi Stars contributed players and Lobi Stars FC, who are seventh (7th) on the log of twenty (20) NPFL teams had no single player? So this means in all honesty, that five(5) teams below Lobi Stars contributed players… even Abia Warriors and Katsina United, who are far down the League table log… this is horrendous and libel me what you want, but it is objective of me to point the absurdity out and except for those who like to think in haphazard ways… it beats every logic and it does not make me a regionalist. I know, as well as most of us here, that the former Nigeria International… Dominic Iorfa, who is either Chairman, or Team Manager of Lobi Stars FC, contested NFF elections with during Pinnick/Giwa elections and somehow was bullied out of the contest… I want to believe, he may have decided not to back the candidature of Pinnick… and this which is all only a conjecture, may be a salient reason why Lobi Stars FC is being sidelined… no one can tell me that, a team which is good enough to occupy the 7th position on the log cannot have even one player on the Mexico game invitation list… some of us think very deeply… something is seriously amiss, and those not blind can clearly understand… we understand the business of football, and this may be deliberate not to give Lobi Stars FC deserving players an opportunity for good exposure, such that the club would not reap good commerce in the future from such player sales…
Please tell us why Grealish was picked and Lingard is not in the English team.
1. Who finished higher btw westham and Aston Villa?
2. Which of the players from these 2 clubs was picked?
Your argument is illogical. Players are picked base on what the coaches want.
Leave him let him be continue ranting his sectional rants there. I never knew invitations to national team was by the position of clubs on the league table….LMAO
@Dr.Drey… It’s really interesting that you who claim NPFL has zero talent is now very passionate about this list of homebased released… If Lobi Stars won league on boardroom points… e get why! Usually all club owners and league chairmen attend such meeting… The decision is taken based on popular concensus… among stakeholders. Lobi Stars must be using Voodoo since they have inferior players yet occupy 7th Position on the league… It’s not 8th position but 7th. I think Super Eagles need the same otumokpo that Lobi Stars are using to get good results despite the whole team being crap… Hahahaha. See argument…
Of course I have to be passionate about the list because they will be representing Nigeria all the same and i advocated for them from the outset despite the fact that It is not a secret that our league is mediocre and so we have no choice but to choose from its medicre products. At least I advocated for them from the onset. Im not a hypocrite like you who is smiling in their presence now but was stabbing them at the back when Rohr declared the homebased will prosecute the game.
The last time I checked, you were about to go and jump from a cliff when Rohr declared he will be using the home-based for the match. You claimed there are MANY TALENTS in the list yet you needed diapers to stop you from soiling yourself at the idea of home-based playing Mexico in an exhibition match. You claimed NPFL has world class players yet you were here bleating all about the place that even players from backwater leagues would be better to assemble for the friendly….LMAOooo. You claimed
NPFL players are better than the foreign based yet you were in tears here telling us to go and be prostrating in front of the foreign based in their beach-front holiday resorts to come and play the match, telling us what parts of the bible and quran we should use to preach patriotism and “Hearts of hearts” (LMAO) to them so that they can abandon their rests after a grueling season to fly 18hrs to US and back to play a meaningless friendly…..LMAOoo
You claimed NPFL has many talents yet you were telling us to throw invitation letters in the air over the skies of Europe a see the first 23 men, including Nwakali and Junior Ajayai, that will catch it and respond irrespective of where they play….LMAO.
You even suggested we engage negotiators to assist us in speaking to clubs to release their players for a Non-fifa window engagement deep in the offseason….any type of club in any type of league…latvia, finland, armenia, azerbaijan….anywhere but NPFL…..LMAO.
You claim NPFL has world class players yet you are “hoping they are good enough to represent Nigeria” and waiting to “See Korokoro”…LMAOOooooo…..what a conflict of trust…what a way to be a two-timming pretender…..LMAO
Between you who wanted to cry over Rohr’s insistence on home-based, calling him all sorts of names you wouldnt tolerate being called, and me that backed the use of the homebased for the match even though the whole world knows they are substandard, who should be ashamed of himself now….??? LMAO. Talk of hypocrisy of the highest order
Now from telling us not to invite use homebased you are complaining there is no Lobi player in the team…..LMAO…….I think it even serves lobi stars right….LMAO. You never wanted any homebased in the team in the first place, preferring players from belarus and armenia, so it serves your state team right that none of their players were called up….LMAO.
When Lobi players were being invited to our CHAN, U23s, U20s, U17 teams since 2014 Dominic Iorfa wasnt the Lobi stars chairman that lost to Amaju in NFF elections….now that no lobi stars player was called up for a friendly, fat liar suddenly remebers it is because Dominic Iorfa is the Lobi stars chairman that lost to Amaju in NFF elections 7 years ago…..LMAO. When Lobi was awarded the league Dikko (pinnick’s vice president) must have forgotten Dominic Iorfa is the Lobi stars chairman that lost to Amaju in NFF elections too…..LMAOooo.
Tell us which lobi player should have been invited instead of the ones invited, Mr sabi pass is mentioning players he last saw playing U17 football 6 years ago. What a “Valid” justification….LMAO.
On a second thought, it serves you right there is ZERO…..0.000 Lobi players called upvfor this game….LMAOoooo. Go and call your players from Latvia and Belarus that you advocated for ab initio…..LMAOOooo
Maybe they want to sell some of the boys to American teams.to raise money for Npfl .lol. calculate 200000$ sign on fee average. X 22 next season in MLS.if dey win Mexico by 4 0
Al this noise about home based players would perpetually disappear after the mexico match. Rohr has just cooked a very delicious food for his haters. What else do u have to say, u asked for it and here u have it, a complete home based team. Lol….. Me go just buy popcorn dy watch am for my house amidst the belle bursting laughter that would ensue during the match. They would be given the baptism of their football career. Lol. Home based this, home base that. Ngwanu, rohr don prepare salad for una.
My only worry Oakfield is that the homebased players play Kerewa Kerewa Kerewa brand of football which isn’t always pleasant to the eye. But I think Eguavoen is a good coach to handle homebased players. Gernot Rohr, as good as he is, does not have expertise in this area. Even with the Super Eagles, sometimes he plays kurukere kurukere style which still gets results.
Don’t worry bro, na kerewa kerewa we go watch tire that day. Lol… Ordinarily, na yobo suppose handle this team but he is just not fit for the job. Just a waste of valuable space. Pitiful. Sit tight for kerewa football folks.
…hahahahaha. This one sweet my belly no be small. Our own pikin… Astute Coach Samson Siasia now has his life ban reduced to five (5) years… this is good news. The real tactician extraordinaire is coming back… I am just praying for the sentence to be backdated so that the time to lapse before he is allowed back is much reduced. Watch some “moongod” of a coach run to takeup his awuf offer of a refresher course to update cobweb-infested football knowledge now… hahahaha. The mention of the name Samson Siasia sends tremors to undercover frauds posing as coaches… Ozigizaga!!!
It was backdated to 2019, which means he has 2-3 years more to serve punishment. Although I’m not a big fan of Siasia cos of his big ego. Would prefer a quiet achiever like Amuneke over him many times over.
Is someone refering to the same tactician extraordinaire who couldn’t qualify for ordinary AFCON twice in 2 attempts or the one that relegated JUTH FC and Bayelsa Utd football club and got Heartland FC disgraced out of CAFCL bottom of their group after taking over a team that only lost the trophy losing the year before on away goals rule…? What a tacticaine extraordinaire. Tacticians who can only compete when there is a U- in front of a tournament.
Congrats to Siasia. I am happy for him he will still have a career after all after his FIFA ban was reduced.
Who wants to be a millionaire…
Question :
Who is the coach that went to a tournament and performed so woeful and uninspiring that his employers immediately asked him to proceed on a refresher course… all expense paid for him?
A. Imama Amapakabo
B. Stephen Keshi
C. Henri Kasperczak
D. Samson Siasia
E. Gernot Beckenbauer Zagallo.
The rightful winner will become bag-carrier personal assistant for the coach in question, after carrying bags for the fraud of a coach for five years… he retires with a title of “Boys weta’kpa I” of Bature… Lol.
I’m not sure you truly understand what woeful and uninspiring means. If you must know winning a bronze medal at the AFCON and qualifying for another AFCON with games to spare after not qualifying for 3 out of 4 previous AFCONS is not uninspiring. Winning 5 games out of 7 in a 24 team tournament is not woeful. Ṣebi una want home based players now we have them brẹkẹtẹ after all the home based are more talented than the foreign based abi?? Lmao!! Well I’m only looking forward to seeing one or two players who may capture the moment and maybe use that opportunity to sell themselves to an MLS team or anywhere in Europe. Because any reasonable Nigerian know that this friendly is just an opportunity to market this home based players.
Jimmy u get time to dey respond to this parrot and his pets. Let them continue to rant about qualifying for the nations cup with games to spare, we have said it and continue to repeat it until your PE teacher who is qualifying you to tournaments and not winning the ultimate prize, is just a waste of resources.
Hahahahahaha…..He is begignign to lose it….LMAO. He switches left and right like the blokos of a Rago whenever he’s beginning to lose the plot….LMAO.
At least one coach has never been banned by FIFA for match-fixing in a career spanning 30 years and has gone as far as taking Bordeaux to a continental club cup final.
Some people never do 10 years for coaching FIFA don amputate their career for them….LMAO….pls remember to put that in your trivia question too….LMAO. See how long it even took to raise $150,000 for an appeal despite SEVEN stints as a national coach with many rich players passing through him…..tufiakwa.
Good name is greater than Gold.
@Ayphillydegreat… Since you and @Dr.Drey coin the phrase… “with two games to spare” it is like you all take that to mean Rohr just won us World Cup. Hahaha… We don tire for that line, make una try another one! Games to spare against minnows like Lesotho, Malawi and Djibouti… Lol. When lions of Cameroon came recently calling… Your ranking went south two spots… Hahaha. Don’t allow me to ask Belmadi and Algeria to invite Nigeria for another friendly… Walahi Rohr go carry protest go united nations secretariat. Hahahaha… at the mention of the name Belmadi, Coach Rohr will take cover… Hahahaha!
The fact remains that Rohr is the only coach in Nigeria football history to qualify the SuperEagles for 3 consecutive tournaments with games to spare. If you have a problem with that you can discuss it with OptaJoe. Lmao! Therefore, he has already raised a standard no matter how emotionally sentimental you can be. You mentioned Lesotho, Malawi and Djibouti. Are those not the same teams your Guardiolas couldn’t beat that they couldn’t even qualify for 3 out of 4 AFCONS??? At least he qualified for the WorldCup with games to spare in the same group that had Cameroon and Algeria so your jamboree up and down the forum is baseless. I don’t know where you get the info that we went back 2 spots in the FIFA ranking after losing a friendly match against Cameroon. The next official FIFA ranking is not until August 12th so where did you get the proof that we’ve moved back 2 spots after losing to Cameroon in an inconsequential friendly match???
Eheeeeen, rubbish record, Abeg after qualifying what happened, and the coaches that didn’t have game to spare what were there outcomes. I really want the tournament proper to start, all this hyping of a PE teacher is getting ridiculous. We can’t wait for January to be here
It was Guinea, Ethiopia and Madagascar we had in our group when your astute Coach and real tactician extraordinaire match fixer couldn’t qualify for AFCON on home soil…LMAO.
It was also Swaziland and Tanzania your African Guadiola struggled to beat during his own tenure…..LMAOoooo. Till those ones will be able to qualify for ordinary AFCON, Rohr qualifying 4 times with games to spare will continue to be celegrated like a world cup for decades to come. Sorry ehn…LMAO.
We’ll rather have our rankings go down south playing cameroon in friendlies than drill oil with our fifa rankings because we couldnt place 2nd or best looser in an AFCON qualifying group….LMAOoooo
Watford signs Dennis!!!
https://www.watfordfc.com/news/official-dennis-deal-done
@Coachie… Some people said Emmanuel Dennis thought he has become Cristiano Ronaldo and started misbehaving. Hmmmmm… So any club will still really be interested in this enfant terrible according to oracles on CSN forum. Emmanuel Dennis must be using juju to hypnotize clubs into taking him on… Lol. The danger of a one-sided story… Club Brugge tell their own… Cologne play am only 9games pass verdict on him head say him dey useless… Watford tell them say make una check unaself give us our man… Las Las na Dennis own story loud now pass. Quack unambitious clubs wey wan kill good player career… You buy player 1million Euros wan sell by force for 25 million Euros… reject good offers even from Atalanta worth over 15million… refuse to sell say buyout na 25million by all means… Last last you cashout for 5million… Abeg make them free David Okereke from their too make him join Lyon… Emmanuel Bonaventure Dennis welcome to Watford FC. Wishing you all the best…
@AYPHILIDEGREAT AND @DR.DREY don’t mind the lobi stars player merchant mr.idoko idoko aka jimmyorange …as for Larry if u say Eguavoen a bronze medallist at afcon 2006 as Chief coach is the worst home based coach then what has ur almighty siasia achieved at senior level?
UNA NOR KNOW ANYTHING UNA GO DEY YARN FOR PUBLIC .. MTCHEEEEW
