Raphael Onyedika has explained the importance of the Super Eagles beating Lesotho in Thursday’s 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
The Super Eagles will kickoff the qualifiers with a home game with Lesotho inside the Godswill Akpabio International stadium.
This will be the fifth meeting between the Super Eagles and Lesotho.
The Super Eagles have won all the four previous meetings with Lesotho.
Speaking after the team’s first training session inside the Uyo stadium, Onyedika stated that expectations from fans is enough motivation for them to secure the three points.
The Club Brugge midfielder expressed satisfaction with the training session.

Onyedika told NFF TV:”The session was nice it’s good to be back and prepare for the coming games so we need to get ready.
“It’s a must win game, we have to put all our effort to win the game because our fans and everyone is counting on us so we need to do everything possible to get the three points.”
Meanwhile, Lesotho senior men’s national team has arrived Uyo ahead of Thursday’s clash.
