One understands that the AFCON in Ivory Coast is just two months away and the 2026 World Cup Qualifiers is about to begin,so this may not be the appropriate time to bring all these boys into the national team in one fell swoop, but nothing stops the NFF,Coach Jose Peseiro and his assistants from gradually introducing these players by running the rule on them in international friendlies in FIFA free windows for international matches.
Na wah ooo, why not just invite the entire Nigerian soccer players both home and abroad, like seriously you have time to type all this and expect the coach to invite all this players? Like this I’m done with you guys.
I expect you to at least appreciate this guy for coming up with this long list.
@Respect is Reciprocal, thanks a million for your brotherly disposition. Let us the beautiful game of football continue to unite us,bro.
Respect my brother!!! This is a great work and football lover. Once again, I respect him with all these lists of names.
May Almighty God continue to empower you my brother, amen.
All the way from London, UK.
@Sam Ade,I appreciate your kind words .Thank you so much and may God Almighty reward you bountifully. In fact ,the list is not exhaustive. Time and space were my greatest undoing. Even Liverpool FC midfielder,Curtis Jones is eligible for Nigeria same for Hellas Verona of Italy midfielder, Michael Folorunsho. Michael Kayode of Fiorentina FC of Italy is also available despite featuring for Italy at youth international level Spain U21 striker,Samu Omoriodon of Deportivo Alaves in Spain can still switch nationality to Nigeria.Talents abound everywhere. It baffles us that Coach Jose Peseiro is stuck with the same set of players despite churning out lethargic and nightmarish results.
Guy you must be a football scout somewhere because this your work is too detailed to be a hobby. I say kudos and more grease to your elbows.
It would have been nice to see some of these guys play but sadly most of them never will, especially the strikers among them – no space.
Even CSN journalists will be green with envy at this detailed report. This is valuable resource for the coaching crew and goons at the NFF, even if they can only utilize less than 20% of the content. I watched the Ikwuemesi guy at Salertina in Serie A recently and was like, wow, isn’t Nigeria just blessed? KUDOS.
Festy Ebosele and Kevin Schade had been call up to Rep of Ireland and Germany respectively recently but I don’t know wether they’ve been capped competitively.
Nice work bro. U Sabi.
Even Oliver Dovin has played a friendly for Sweden this year.
Festy Ebosele has been capped by the Republic of Ireland
Par the new FIFA rule on change of nationality, all these players remain eligible to play for Nigeria. Festy Ebosele has earned two caps for Republic of Ireland but unless he plays in 4 competitive games excluding friendlies he remains eligible to lace his boots for Nigeria. For instance, players like Ugochukwu Iwu(8 caps for Armenia) and Folarin Balogun (6 caps for USA) can no longer switch to another country.Even Eberechi Eze can still switch if he is no longer invited to The Three Lions set up for a period of three years. So Festy Ebosele, Oliver Dovin,Kevin Schade,Destiny Udogie,Joel Asoro, Antonio Nusa,Dominic Solanke can still switch in 3 years time if they cease from earning more caps for their adopted countries. Only players who have played in tournaments or completions organized by FIFA,UEFA,CONCACAF,etc are barred from benefiting from the new rule.
My apology bro if I sound rude. Nice job.
@Femi,you are my brother. So there are no ill feelings.Let the beautiful game continue to unite us. Thanks for your kind words, bro .
You welcome bro.
Yes, we all need to support ourselves and thanks bro!
Menn! Nigeria must be a blessed country indeed.
I won’t be surprised a few of these players mentioned above could be better than what we currently have in the super eagles.
I think Ifeanyi Matthew is better than Joe Aribo on current form; and he played with Ndidi and Iheanacho at age group level so I think he’s someone the coaches should look to invite soon if Aribo’s situation at club level does not improve soon. The goalkeepers should also be scrutinized ’cause it doesn’t look like we have the required quality in that position. My hope is that we find someone from the local league who will just do an Enyeama and lockdown the position for the next 12 years
Brodaman Sammy. Please you guys should spare Aribo some slack. Agreed his situation at club level isn’t great. But that isn’t down to his ability but just his style. Aribo remains a quality midfielder, a quality international football player we are lucky to have. The coach at Southampton prefers players that runs and have great speed but Aribo style emphasises steady build up.
I am not against ifeanyi Mathews invitation, infact I am in for it but we should always wait for new players to come in and prove themselves before suggesting we discard of the ones already on ground. WE SHOULD LET THEIR FOOTBALL DECAMP AND ENCAMP.
Quality midfielder that can not make a 1st 11 of a championship Southampton side? After we would say we will win world Cup. Aribo’s game is limited as a midfielder. Since he joined the SE have you ever seen him make a long range pass? His strength is his finishing and that is if the opposition give him a scoring opportunity. He is not the best dribbler such that he creates space and opportunity; he is limited to give short passes which a defensive astute team will frustrate. His vision is not the best, strength is average. In conclusion there is a reason why he is not starting at a championship side.
Brotherman (to coin a phrase) Golden Child, I think Aribo’s strength lies in his versatility. He can play support striker, winger, centre midfielder and attacking midfielder.
But he seldom stamps his authority in midfield where even Frank Onyeka is starting to churn out compelling performances.
Dnt talk about changing uzoho to @greenhurt ohhh, he go change am for you, yes Mathew need to be integrated into the team and good thing the NFF have query pesero on why some inactive players keep getting call up to the NT which I assume Aribo lead that group of players for now, if his situation with his club stay the same, I’m sure his chance of making it to the AFCON would definitely be hanging in the air.
Do you that even Liverpool FC midfielder,Curtis Jones is eligible to play for Nigeria’s Super Eagles going by FIFA’s grandfather’s rule on eligibility? Jones was sounded out recently over this and he confirmed it himself. Nigeria is indeed blessed. With the right coach we can win the World Cup. Remember,Morocco got to the Semi- Finals at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.Talents abound everywhere.
@Sean,yeah ,Oliver Dovin who was born in England but raised in Sweden, was capped in a friendly by Sweden. Same goes for former Nigerian target,Joel Asoro, who once played for Sunderland of England. However both of them are still eligible to play for Nigeria.
@Femi, honestly,I doubt if you’re a genuine football fan. Hey,bro,do you have to criticize everything? Did you read the last paragraph of my piece? I never said they should be invited now. After all Peseiro has not called up more than two uncapped players since he took over as Super Eagles coach. The Portuguese gaffer may not change that policy going forward. But you will agree with me that Chuba Akpom,Akor Adams,Gift Orban,Alhassan Yusuf and Igoh Ogbu deserve some space in the squad on current form ,which is the yardstick used in other climes like Brazil, England,France, Germany etc to call up players to the national team. And that parting phrase” think I’m done with you guys” was very unnecessary. This is a forum provided by Complete Sports for fans to air their views, learn from each other and entertain themselves which only football can provide, especially considering the current economic realities in our dear country. So brother ,have a rethink.
@Sammy,@Kel,@Sean,@Cyril Kasim,@Greenturf ,thank you guys for kind words.May the round leather game of football continue to unite us all. Have been reading your comments on this thread and I must say that you girls are SUPERB!

@Greenturf ,I doff my hat, great one. Thank you so much for your kind words. Let the beautiful game continue to unite us and may the Heavens reward you.
i hope nff have a similar database of potential nigerian players for all levels of the national team, both home and abroad. but i doubt it. we keep calling players like jamilu collins back to the team when we have bright samuel who plays on the right and ola aina who can play in numerous positions including left full back. at least we have a fresh face in bruno onyemachi and raphael onedika is also in the
team but will he still be in the team when ndidi returns? alhassan yusuf should have been in this team since, ahead of a player like Aribo but of course the team management prioritises the league a player plays for ahead over the impact the player will have in the team. but all in all i will say that this team looks good on paper, lets just hope that they are also good on the pitch. good work Mr Hillary collating the data of all these players of nigeria origin. i hope the nff are taking notes. All the best to the super eagles today and sunday
@Sportsfan, thanks a million for your contribution to the discourse. Let’s hope the NFF and the relevant stakeholders will listen.
Don’t forget sadick mujaid of genk. I have more list .just dat I have no time to type all
