Security at the Godswill Akpabio International stadium in Uyo has been beefed up ahead of Thursday’s Group C 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Lesotho.
With two days to go before the clash, access into the stadium complex is very strict.
As observed by completesports.com’s James Agberebi, who is in Uyo, most of the gates are locked with only one opened.
A glance from outside the stadium hardly will one find persons moving about, apart from staff who are putting finishing touches to some of the facilities in preparation for the big game.

Presenting an identification card as a journalist is not enough reason to gain easy access into the stadium.
This is an indication that security is very paramount on the scale of things being considered as the game draws nearer.
Meanwhile, as at Monday, 13, three players have arrived the Super Eagles camp in Uyo for the qualifiers.
The three players are Kenneth Omeruo, Umar Sadiq and Jamilu Collins.
Most of the players are expected to hit camp today (Tuesday).
