Super Eagles’ 2026 FIFA World Cup Group C qualifying opponent Rwanda lost 1-0 at home to Burundi in an international friendly on Friday.
Burundi scored the only goal of the game in the 26th minute which they held on to till the end of the game.
The defeat means Rwanda are now winless in their last six games (four defeats and two draws).

The last time they recorded a win was a 1-0 triumph against Sunday on November 19, 2022.
Rwanda’s first meeting against the Super Eagles in the 2026 World Cup qualifier is an home game billed for March 17, 2025.
The second leg in Nigeria comes up on August 31, 2025.
Super Eagles have defeated Rwanda twice and recorded three draws in the five times both countries have met.
Rwanda failed to qualify for next year’s AFCON after finishing bottom in Group L.
