Warriors of Zimbabwe head coach Baltemar Brito has said playing their 2026 World Cup qualifying home game against Nigeria’s Super Eagles in Rwanda will feel like a neutral venue.
The Warriors will host the Eagles on matchday two of the qualifiers on Sunday.
Unfortunately, they will entertain the Eagles away from home as non of their stadium is passed fit to host games.
“Playing away from home is going to be a big factor because we would like to play at home in front of our fans.,” Brito said in his press conference on Saturday.

“So in this circumstance we know we should do our best but it will look like we are playing in a neutral field which will affect a little bit but we are ready to cope.”
The former Chelsea assistant coach stated that he expect the Super Eagles to approach the game with vengeance after the surprise draw with Lesotho.
“We will face our next game with the hope of winning. We will expect a sort of revenge from Nigeria because of the draw in their first game.
“But they are not going to face a small or weak nation, they will come out strong but we will also be strong and face them the best way we can.”

Super Eagles draw versus minnows Lesotho has made pressure against SE when they meet Zimbabwe tommorow, cause South Africa defeated Benin today with 2-1 in Johanesburg; so Peseiro must harness his SE to play positive game versus hard team Zimbabwe, Peseiro must change his stratigies and his tactic on this match , he must adjust his defensive players , so he must put Omuero and Ajayi as pair center back , Moffi and Boniface as pair forward, Moses and Iheancho as wingers; on side backs he should put Aina as right back,Onyamaechi as left back; Iwobi and Onyeka play as creative midfielders.
Awoniyi and Lookman must be excluded from this match. Also, Aribo as well. Must use Tella in this game. It seems this ye-ye coach doesn’t know what he is doing. he has never won any match for Nigeria since he took over. Nigeria is very unlucky to have him. If we could not beat common Lesotho at home, how are we going to beat the tough Zimbabwe on Sunday is what putting fear upon most 200 million Nigerians everywhere.
Awoniyi copped a groin injury and is back to his club, so definitely out. Agree with you, Lookman seems better as a late sub not starter. The coach, apart from being sub par, has not got his formation and starting 11 right.
Lol are u sure the coach has never won any match since he took over ?
Edoman these two players are not useless they perform better when coming from the bench as an impact player.
Crazy coach who has a tella on the bench but don’t know when to use him. Mad coach
I wrote it that he doesn’t know how to start new players so people should forget about Tella getting a debut despite the whole noise because he has never given debut to good new players, but if the player was average you’ll be surprised that he will start the player.
