Samuel Chukwueze is expected to return to action for Serie A club AC Milan in the next few days after spending time on
the sidelines.
His return will be a timely boost for Nigeria ahead of their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.
Chukwueze sustained the injury in Nigeria’s friendly against Saudi Arabia earlier this month.

Hope he will make his presence felt this time. Samu, as he is fondly called, have been very disappointing when ever he is on National call.
He should concentrate on his club football as he’s just a liability to the Super Eagles. Nothing spectacular about him to bring to the team.
Ihaenacho will play better in that position eventhough it’s not his usual or natural role & then their is talk of Nathan Tella. Likewise Lookman can play better in that role.
The Coach should also try 3-5-2 formation as we have good players at right wing back in Aina & Osayi. Also Onyemachi & Sanusi at the left
After the forward line, the next best players in the SE are the fullbacks. Nigeria has great forwards and very good fullbacks. Too many people blame players instead of coaching tactics. When these players play for their clubs they’re usually given very strict tactical instructions. Samu cannot play anyhow he likes because it would be against the coaches instructions, and if he does so he’ll be dropped.
However, when they play for Nigeria their manner of playing becomes selfish and undisciplined because they’re not given tactical instructions. They’re just told to go out and play, they do not practice link-up play and positional movement with their other team mates.
Nigeria has enough players to win AFCON and do well at world cups i.e. reach at least the quarter finals. No other team in Africa – and only a few teams in Europe and S. America, have the wealth of talent at Nigeria’s disposal. Lack of appropriate tactical play from the coaches is preventing the SE from succeeding. This, apart from goal-keeping, is not the fault of individual players.
chukwueze and Oshoala are liabilities and both are over rated and I wonder why they still invite them to the national teams.
The comments above are spot-on.I think some Nigerians fans could even perform better than our SE Coaches.Good observations above.
