The Godswill Akpabio International in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State, is set to host the Group C 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier between Nigeria’s Super Eagles and Lesotho.
The matchday one clash is billed for Thursday, 16 November, 2023.
In their last 2023 AFCON qualifier the Super Eagles hosted São Tomé and Principe in Uyo and recorded a resounding 6-0 win.

Come Thursday, they will entertain Lesotho and with what is on the ground, Nigerians should expect a good outing from Jose Peseiro side.
As usual the pitch is lush green and in pick condition which should suit the Super Eagles players.
The grounds men were seen laying the white lines on the pitch while technical personnel were putting finishing touches to their equipment.

This stadium should have hosted Nigeria v Ghana 2022 world cup qualifier.
We do have luck playing here and the management seem to be doing a fantastic job of the stadium’s upkeep.Impressive.
We want to excel in world football but only one stadium is certified by CAF. I laugh in Swahili….Thank God Godswill Akpabio thought ahead of time, otherwise we might be playing our home matches in Morocco or Ghana now.
If the players play anyhow tomorrow, we go see anyhow.
Mind you the referees will do us no favours because the CAF president want his country SOUTH AFRICA to qualify. We need to win flat and square. Motsepe is working behind the scenes. Know this and know peace. Hayatou played the Cameroun card against us in the past.
This is erroneous impression concerning CAF President,If SE players exhibit their potentials and live up to the billings CAF President has nothing to offer in negativity to SE qualification.
I believe Jose Peseiro coaching ability at this level should be able to sustain any pressure from our group opponents.
Temper your expectations. Players only had two days for serious training. Prepare to hear excuses if they no play well. I hate all this strolling to camp in the eleventh hour
