Former Nigerian international, Alloy Agu has urged Nigerians not to write off the Super Eagles despite their shaky start to their 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
Recall that Nigeria lost 2-1 to Benin after being initially held to a 1-1 draw by South Africa at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
The Super Eagles are winless after four games and sit in fifth place in Group C with three points.

However, in a chat with Completesports.com, Agu stated that it will be too early to think the Super Eagles can qualify from the group.
He noted that Nigeria will turn the table around and do the impossible in the remaining six games left in the qualifiers.
“Yes, I agree that the last two results against South Africa and Benin were a big blow to Nigeria’s World Cup ambitions. But then, it will be wrong to write off the Super Eagles at this stage.
“I am still optimistic that the team will pick the ticket for the World Cup. It may be a tough challenge, but Nigeria knows how to rise to the occasion when the chips are down.
“It is not over yet because the Nigerian spirit will be invoked and the impossible in the eyes of many will be achieved.”

Believe this man @ your own peril. As far as am concerned, SA will book the sole ticket at the expense of the Super eagles. The Nigeria team is embroiled in a lot of shenanigans ranging from doggy and corrupt NFF officials, ineptitude coach, unpatriotic players and many more.
I don’t even think SA will pick the ticket. As long as Rohr is with Benin, he’ll pick the sole ticket, in my opinion.
As long Finidi stays as the Eagles Coach Nigeria goes no where. He is a product of poor decision making by the NFF. U cannot give what u dont have. Finidi does not have the midas touch to coach at that level and under the prevailing circumstances. If they can bring in Amunike and he accepts the job he can do wonder’s
Kai wallahi, i dey lameting for afrika
This is where we MISS GENERAL ROAR. Under him just the 2 FIRST GAMES is enough to QUALIFY us with the rest to SPARE….
I really don’t understand what Finidi was trying to do
Nigeria just finished 2nd in a major competition we had a team in place all you needed was continue with that team why bringing in a player like Tanimu for what ? From the Tanzania league so he can sell him to European clubs. See how selfish our Coaches can be I can tell you his selection was not base on current form but how he can benefit from their contracts. Why would you leave out Ekong MVP of the last Afcon and Ola Aina one of our best defenders. The man Finidi should just pack his bags and go home. All our indigenous Coaches have that same mindset who can I sell to make Dollars. Give this job to any foreign Coach they would not put personal gain first above the country
