Black Stars of Ghana have dropped to fifth place in Group I ahead of their matchday 3 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier away to Mali on Thursday.
Ghana’s drop in position was as a result of Central Africa Republic’s 1-0 win against Chad on Wednesday.
Baboula’s 29th minute strike was enough to give Central Africa Republic all three points.
It was Central Africa Republic’s first win in the group which catapulted them from fifth to third spot after three games.
The Black Stars can move up the table if they overcome Mali who are second on four points.
In their last outing in the qualifiers in November, 2023, the Black Stars lost 1-0 away to Comoros.
