Victor Boniface has said he is ready to take on Lesotho on matchday one of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers on Thursday.
The Eagles will welcome Lesotho to the Godswill Akpabio International stadium for their Group C opener.
Boniface is expected to make his first competitive start for the Eagles against Lesotho.
The 22-year-old will hope to replicate his club form for the Eagles on Thursday.
He has netted seven goals, made five assists in 11 Bundesliga games for Bayer Leverkusen this season.
“I’m ready and focus, we are determined so tomorrow we will see what happens,” he said on NFF TV after the team’s final training session on Wednesday.
“Training has been really good, we’ve done two trainings in a short time and every player is focus on the game.
“I will try to do my best, give 100 per cent and also try to win the game. We can’t wait to see our fans at the stadium because we need their support.“
Boniface marked his debut for the Eagles with an assist in the 6-0 win against São Tomé and Principe.
He went on to feature in the two friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
