Bafana Bafana of South Africa head coach Hugo Broos says the Super Eagles are a more offensive team under new handler Finidi George.
Broos’s side came up against the Super Eagles at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in February.
Nigeria triumphed 4-2 on penalties after the semi-final tie ended 1-1.
Then Super Eagles head coach Jose Peseiro adopted a defensive approach for majority of his side’s game at the competition.
Broos however said the Super Eagles approach was different in the friendlies against Ghana and Mali in March with Finidi in charge.

“We will try to shock them again. It’s a little bit different than the team of AFCON,” Broos told SABC.
“With Finidi George they have a coach who thinks more offensively. Peseiro, he was a little bit more defensive and I saw that certainly in the game against us, he was always telling the team to go back.
“Also in the final they didn’t really play offensively, they just tried to be good defensively and then hoping on a counterattack or a situation in front of the goal where they could score.
“I saw two games against Mali and Ghana, it’s different. They take a little bit more initiative. It’s not the team anymore who went back and wait.
“They also try to make pressure early in the game and close to the goal of the opponent, so we have to look for something now that we can shock them again like we did for the game in Ivory Coast.”
Bafana Bafana will be up against the Super Eagles at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo next week Friday.

Kai, this coach wotowoto is too much. I think he is feeling the heat already kę. All Finidi George have to do is to get is tactics right. No late sub while the inform players should play both encounters.
I believe South Africa is still our wife. We are going to take care of them again in style and they will be all right next week lol. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
@Omo9ja. They are worried about what Nigeria is capable of doing to them. This time Victor Boniface, and Ndidi are around to step up the attack up front. Lookman will also take care of business, that, l can tell them.
This man seff worst mtchwww. I thought he said Nigeria were scared of him, it seems he’s peeing in his pant before match. I get it the day of judgement is drawing near and it’s time to face reality. Yeye man.
I think coach Hugo Broos is diplomatic one to declare this comment , he would like to drag Super Eagles to Bafana Bafana trap with saying that SE are strong in attack with Finidi style of play , then he thinks Finidi will leave out defensive one , so Hugo will expolit defensive gaps which SE will open them. We warn Finidi to be careful of Hugo Broos machination against SE…
Well said. The logic is clear: this man is at war with us so why should we take his assessment as true? Finidi and his assistants should ignore this unsolicited opinion from a diehard enemy.
Get the job done neatly, professionally.
Skewed assessment of the SE from Hugo Broos…. I smell mind games here.
God help us . This man is able to read our last two games perfectly, this goes to show he meant business. I pray Finidi is also able to dissect south Africa well to know the kind of tatics to use. I would pray Finidi shouldn’t throw open his game plan ,let him be defensive conscious. It will be easy to best South Africa in South Africa than to beat them here in Nigeroa.
I hope Finidi is watching the Atalanta Vs Fiorentina match.Lookman just scored playing through the middle and not on the wings
Another assist by Lookman.Atalanta 2 Fiorentina 2 Game on
Watched Ademola lookman substituted now ,he went straight to shake his team mates and left immediately, i guess he is leaving for the airport to join Eagles
i saw it too. that is why it would hurt so bad if Finidi benches this guy for Iheanacho again like he did in the two friendlies.
I am not sure he will do that this time. The Mali match was a friendly this is the real McCoy.
Meanwhile Lookman said he can play as a 9 in place of Osimhen’s absence but with Chukwueze and Moses Simon out, only Lookman is available to cover the wings.
