South Africa goalkeeper Rowen Williams is optimistic Bafana Bafana can beat Nigeria away in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Hugo Broos’ side will travel to Uyo for their matchday three encounter next month.
Bafana Bafana defeated the Super Eagles 2-1 the last time both teams met at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.

Williams believed Bafana Bafana have what it takes to beat Finidi George’s men on the road.
The last time we went to Nigeria we beat them. I was part of that squad so I will share my experience with the players,” Williams was quoted by the Citizens.
“And it was a valuable experience in the Afcon, playing Nigeria. I think that was one of our better games at the Afcon, so it is possible to go there and get a result. Why not? We have shown we can compete with the best, we just need to show that consistency.”
South Africa will host the Warriors of Zimbabwe at the Free State Stadium, Blomfeintein four days after their encounter with the Super Eagles.

This is why I don’t like to play south Africa, they are extremely boastful, how I wish we beat them silly during AFCON,I don’t think they will be this silly.this current Eagles are not trustworthy, they are never strong at home, loosing to every Tom and Harry in football, let’s see how it goas
If wishes were money we would all be billionaires not only Bill Gates. Now this is the point come closer to time of reckoning Nigerians all seem to get sense yet months to build up unwarranted Ego and Patriotsim beclouds sound judgement. well it is too late now. The Stone is cast Let Amokachi and Findi finsh work lol. We will all find a big African Nation to support like Cote d’ Ivoire or Senegal as for Nigeria, We will be minnows in African ball very soon as our Organisers keep spitting in Karma’s a face. I once said on this Platform good faith does not follow Corruption and injustice. Time Will tell. But As i said the stone is cast.
Nigeria should be ashamed of ourselves even Ivory Coast can boast having 3 AFCON Trphies, A Country that was only on 1 when we had 3 to our name. Is that not shameful. That is to show you people our NFF is rubbish and will continue to be so as long as we still have blind Patriotic Nigerians as Fans
If not for the urgency of winning this game . I wil just camp players of eyimba, rivers united 3 sc , rangers 2 weeks only and put nwabally for post omg I put amaka ndozie dressed as male . south Africa wil eat it
…
South Africans talk too much…
Well, this is football, anything can happen. Nigeria can also beat South Africa in their backyard.
People let us be humble it is not like we have any advantage already our build up to these encounter is not encouraging at all. I feel Nigerians must just be humble if we add unwarrnted mouth to our already Shoddy Build up to this encounter that is literally putting a nail in our faith.
South Africans are noise makers- whether male or female teams they boast ahead to gain psychological advantage. But forumites here are giving them incentives to do so. I trust Finidi and his technical crew. They know what is at stake and SE will beat Bafana home and away. We are not mates!
Our approach to the last game at the AFCON then gave them that confidence. If we we had adopted a more offensive approach, we would have beaten them silly. Luck was also against us because if Yusuf had not committed that foul and just made a clean clearance, we could be taking of 2 or more goals against these guys. That’s exactly where their confidence is coming from, and I really want us to change that narrative and put them in their proper place in these WCQs. I hope Finidi knows this: this isn’t just a match; it’s a song of redemption.
Well, I’m not really concerned about what the South African players are saying but I am more concerned about the way Finidi is going to approach the match.
He did one thing that makes me believe he will do well. He picked his assistants that has Nigeria roots which is very unique.
No one will want his country down. That is the spirit of having our own in charge of the Super Eagles
Paseiro wasn’t good enough at the last afcon and this is why Bafana Bafana have been boasting and boasting like this but no worries they will collect wotowoto when the time comes by God’s grace. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
