Super Eagles midfielder Chidera Ejuke has described the team’s Al-Abraq airport experience in Libya as horrible.
Recall that the Super Eagles had arrived in Libya for the second-leg match after securing victory in the first leg in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State and their chartered flight was diverted.
The Nigerian contingent, including players and officials were held hostage for over 16 hours in an attempt to derail their preparation for the upcoming match.

However, in a chat with Diario de Sevilla, Ejuke stated that players were a little scared with the situation
“It was a crazy situation that we did not expect. We could not do anything, we were locked in the airport,” he told Diario de Sevilla.
“We were locked in for about 16 hours. Yes, it was a long time. Without food, we brought some water when we came from Nigeria and some snacks from the flight.
“We were a little scared, but we all stood together so that we wouldn’t go crazy”
