Black Stars of Ghana’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification suffered another setback on Monday as they conceded a late goal to draw 1-1 with Niger Republic in Morocco.
The Black Stars’ attacking struggles continued, putting their hopes of qualifying for AFCON 2025 in serious danger.
Coach Otto Addo’s side went into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Angola in Kumasi just days earlier and were under pressure to secure a win against the lowest-ranked team in the group.
However, they conceded a late goal to settle for a share of the spoils, which made it the third consecutive match in which Ghana conceded a goal in the dying minutes.
Ghana took the lead in the 44th minute thanks to Alidu Seidu who unleashed a powerful shot that swerved past the goalkeeper.
The second half saw Ghana control much of the game, but they missed key opportunities to extend their lead as Niger grew into the match, and were rewarded in the 81st minute when Oumar Sako found the net from a near-post delivery.
Mohammed Kudus almost put Ghana in front again but a crucial block denied him.
The Black Stars now face the daunting task of needing to defeat Sudan both home and away in October to revive their qualification hopes.

“2025 AFCONQ: Ghana Drop Points Again After 1-1 Draw Away To Nigeria”
Oga, correct this.
It’s like Nigeria’s ‘demon’is anti-world cup while Ghana’s own is anti-nations cup
Exactly what I’m trying to point out that fans are not seeing. Nigeria issues is not nations cup when it comes to World Cup qualifiers our players switch off.
