Former Kwara United coach Samson Unuanel says the Super Eagles’ loss to Rwanda in a 2025 Africa Cup qualifier doesn’t have any negative impact on the team.
Recall that Nigeria lost 2-1 to Rwanda, their first defeat in the qualifying campaign.
Reacting after the game, Unuanel told Completesports.com that the match was inconsequential and didn’t have any effect on the table.

With all due respect Sir, what you said does not make any sense and it is not based on any empirical data. The SE has been struggling since the world Cup qualifiers. A team capable of winning thr afcon is the one that cannot beat Rwanda at home and could only squeeze a draw against Benin? It is people like this that will eventually be selected to the NFF technical committee in the future . The red flags are visible but they still would not do anything to salvage the team.
Maduka has consistently shown that he is not good enough at international level but he will keep getting invites. Iheanacho has shown that he is over the hill and he will keep getting invites, Boniface has shown that he is not good enough for the SE but I will not be surprised if I see his name in the list in March. Eguavoen in the post presser said the team lacks a creative midfielder but the question is it now that he is realising that? He had done nothing to fill that void , inviting the same players in midfield and expecting a different outcome. At times I wonder if they are that clueless or just deliberately wicked.
Uche Chrisantus is a player who could add energy , flair and physicality to our midfield but our coach will say he has not seen him play.. in 2024 for goodness sake! Now that he has realised that our problem is creativity, watch them do NOTHING till March. Have they even scouted players of Nigerian descent who are attacking midfielders ? your guess is as good as mine. There is Shola shotire of PAOK in Greece, have they sounded the boy? What about sylvester jasper or even akinsanmiro? The midfield is the most important segment but NFF have not paid the right attention to it. Iwobi is not a 10 and neither is bashiru. Both are good players but not suitable for that role.
Look at this one, this is them over bloated ego, living in dream land, Arrogantly thinking that Nigeria wil beat anybody because he looks down on everyone, so blind to see that this team lacks any direction, Pattern Hunger, Training Ground Elements that should be very visible in game, team lacks discipline everybody wants to be Ronaldo and Messi, No body running for each other, This team I saw play right from 1-0 win last qualifiers to now 2-1 loss to Rwanda will be swept very well Aside by Bafana Bafana Of South Africa, these fools Unael them Want Nigeria to descend to the level of Mauritius or Botswana in Ball because that is what will happen if SA beat us, this fools have become so Accustomed to the Mediocrity they have campaigned for Nigeria to become that is is becoming sickening, Imagine South Africa coach Hugo Broos Talking like that just imagine ‘ YOU WIN SOME YOU LOSE SOME” what sort of comment is this?, What a Shame. CSN you are a shame for giving these Bunch of Non Entities voice to pollute the Minds of serious football Loving Nigeria, Only God Will judge all of you if SA embarrass Nigeria next year which is clearly All over the wall if Time is not taken and Eguavoen sacked
