2025 AFCONQ: Award Eagles Three Points Against Libya –Kalu Tells CAF

Senator Orji Uzor Kalu has called on the Confederation of Africa Football (CAF) to award the Super Eagles the maximum points against Libya in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.

He made this known on the backdrop of Libya’s ill treatment meted out to the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Libya

Recall that the Super Eagles, Coach and Technical crew were left stranded without food, WiFi, hotel accommodations, and other logistics for over 14 hours as they arrived at Libya Airport for the second leg of the qualification of CAF AFCON 2025.

Reacting to the development in a statement issued on Monday, Kalu stated that CAF must sanction Libya for treating the Super Eagles with such disdain and disregard.

“CAF must make that decision as quickly as possible to serve as a deterrent to any African country that behaves in such an irresponsible manner.”

“These things must be put to a halt forthwith. This dishonorable display of lack of class and character must stop henceforth. I condemn this horrible disregard for fellow humans. It is utter shame that the Libya Football Federation could display such a cunning strategy. These were the things they cunningly did to Enyimba Football Club of Aba, and I fought against it. CAF must award the three (3) points to the Super Eagles of Nigeria immediately,” Kalu said.
