Nigeria’s Falconets have made it to the playoff round of the 2024 FIFA women’s World Cup qualifiers.
In Sunday’s third round second leg tie against Tanzania at the MKO Abiola stadium in Abuja, the Falconets won 2-1 to advance 3-2 on aggregate.
Janet Akekoromowei gave the Falconets the lead in the 20th minute but Jamila Rajani Mnunduka made it 1-1 on 25 minutes.

In the 60th minute Comfort Folorunsho put the Falconets 2-1 ahead which turned out to be the winner.
The Falconets will now take on Burundi in the final qualifying round with the winner picking one of the four tickets to the World Cup in Columbia.
To get to the playoff stage, Burundi beat DR Congo 1-0 in the second leg after losing the first leg 3-2.
