Nigeria’s Flamingos have advanced into the third round of the 2024 FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup qualifiers after thrashing Central African Republic 6-0, in the second leg on Friday at the MKO Abiola stadium, Abuja.
The result means the Flamingos got through 12-0 on aggregate, after the first leg also ended 6-0.
Harmony Chidi bagged a hat-trick while Ramota Kareem got two goals and Tessy Ojiyovwi netted a goal.
Harmony gave the Nigerian team the lead in the 2nd minute and added the second in the 14th minute.
In the 36th minute, Ojiyovwi made it 3-0 before Kareem added the fourth and fifth goals on 55 and 85 minutes respectively.

Harmony then completed her hat-trick when she struck in the 90th minute.
Three teams will represent Africa at this year’s FIFA U-17 Women’s World Cup in Dominican Republic.
The competition will run from 16 October to 3 November, 2024.
At the 2022 FIFA U-17 women’s World Cup in India, the Flamingos finished third.
