Super Falcons goalkeeper Chiamaka Nnadozie has expressed appreciation to the fans for their massive support in the team’s 4-0 win over Ethiopia on Tuesday in a 2024 Olympic games qualifiers at the Moshood Abiola Stadium.
Recall that Atletico Madrid forward Rasheedat Ajibade scored a brace in the encounter while Asisat Oshoala and Uchenna Kanu scored a goal apiece.
The first leg of the tie ended 1-1 in Addis Ababa last week Wednesday.
With the win the Super Falcons have qualified for the next round of the CAF Olympic games qualifying series.

Nnadozie who was in goal throughout the encounter took to her X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to celebrate her team’s victory.
“+3 Clean sheet next found A big thanks to the fans for their massive support thank you Abuja,” she posted.
Nnadozie made her debut for the Super Falcons in 2018 and she has made over 20 appearances for the squad ever since.
The Nigerian team will now play the Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon in the next stage of qualification for the Olympics.
The 2024 Olympics will be held in Paris, France from July 26 to August 11 next year.
The Super Falcons have been unable to qualify for the last three editions of the Olympics.

Hahaha, let’s hope NFF will reciprocate by paying match bonus eeeeh!
One of the biggest bugbear of the NFF against Randy Waldrum was his inability to unearth a likely successor and worthy rival to Nnadozie in between the Super Falcons sticks.
But in truth, no senior national team coach discovered Nnadozie. That accolade I think goes to Coaches Chris Danjuma and Nikyu Bala of the Falconets and Flamingos respectively.
Nnadozie, who was grateful to fans for their support in Olympics qualifiers against Ethiopia, is currently unmatched and unassailable as Super Falcons netminder, so much so that some fans have – in jest – suggested she be drafted to solve the so-called goalkeeper crisis afflicting the Super Eagles (I still admonish fans to please leave Okoye and Uzoho alone).
So, who can give Nnadozie a run for her Super Falcons money?
Monle Oyono, who was a bag of nerves for the Falconets in last year’s U-20 world cup, looks lightweight. She is being gradually eased into the Super Falcons though as she is currently in the squad. But, alongside netminding skills, a Nigeria goalkeeper has to have a commanding presence which Oyono doesn’t always exude.
Faith Omilana – who gained fame with the Flamingos in the U-17 World Cup in India last year – to me looks very intimidating. You would have to be a confident guy to ask for her number in the club if you don’t want to go to bed with a black eye. She also has burgeoning goalkeeping skills and massive potentials to improve.
Oyono is likeable and sweet. She received some flack for her shortcomings last year but showed strong character and fortitude to rise above the storms. But I have a soft spot for Omilana.
Both young goalkeepers hold promise but Nnadozie has raised the bar so high that Oyono and Omilana will have to climb on each other to even come near Nnadozie’s boots, let alone her gloves.
But, are the NFF right to nurse a grudge against Randy Waldrum for exposing a much older retired goalkeeper in Yewande Balogun instead of throwing any of Oyono or Omilana in the deep end? I don’t know.
Yewande – I think – has no future in the Super Falcons, Omilana and Oyono do.
And when the opportunity presents itself, I hope they grab it with both gloves!
