This is about the first time I’m hearing a Nigerian handball team compete at the global stage. It’s always been the north Africans and Angola. And being a development team makes a lot sweeter, irrespective of their performance in China.
Kudos to NHF for this feat. And I do hope this will serve as an encouragement to our young girls aspiring to make a career out of this sport.
@Papafem,In the 80s we have the Grasshopper of Owerri (girls) that represented Nigeria for several years and also some junior boys from Macjob Grammar school Abeokuta represented in 1982 ( or 83 there about), the Macjob boys had George Adeyemi (Osawe) as one of there coaching team then.
I think FAN ICE used to sponsor the Owerri girls and they were a very good team that represented well.
But you know our administrators, once they see opportunity to money and travels, they will hijack it, greed will take over and before you know it everything katakata.
