Former Super Eagles goalkeeper, Peter Rufai believes Super Falcons striker, Desire Oparanozie can become coach Randy Waldrum’s big joker against the Three Lionesses of England in tomorrow’s Round of 16 clash at the ongoing 2023 Women’s World Cup.
Oparanozie, who has not featured in any of the matches that the team played in the group stage due to injury, has been declared fit by the technical crew ahead of the big game on Monday morning.
However, in a chat with Completesports.com, the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner, said that Oparanozie’s bulky play will cause lots of problems for England.
“I am very delighted that Oparanozie has been declared fit to face England. This is a game that all Nigerians can’t wait to watch and I know the presence of Oparanozie will definitely be a big problem for England.
‘I just hope Waldrum will utilise her well. I don’t mind if she starts against England.”

“Oparanozie Can Be Waldrum’s Joker Against England –Rufai

Many thanks to you Mr. Dodomayana. I am not a coach nor ex players but we can see that Mr. Rufai and I are on the same page.
Starting Oparanozie is the best for the team. She’s more clinical, calm, more confidence and experienced to any of our strikers but she have to start against the English team.
I said this a few days ago, but many people were kicking against that move on this platform. Oparanozie is fully fit, and She’s not matching rusty. She had a nocked in the training, and she’s fully ready to face England.
Oparanozie is going to be our joker if the gaffer can start her, and while Oshoala should start from the bench. Gift Monday should start the match, too. Nigeria is winning this match of the coach can set up his first 11 well and his substitutions. Good luck, Super Falcons. Hmmm. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
I think oparanozie and oshoala should start the match.
Match Nigeria don already loose. Omo9ja don’t u see the writings on the wall?
Tomorrow, many who think Africans are pushed over will have a rethink.
Let the match begin. I stand for a bleeding continent called Africa. I believe we are crossing the bridge with our weakness. No matter the outcome tomorrow, We move to the next level. God bless Nigeria.
A fit Oparanozie is a great option to have in the attack. Her physical play will trouble the English defenders, and she’s quite clinical in front of goal too. It’s Waldrum’s headache to decide who starts. Whoever he selects, may their scoring boots be with them on match day!
Something in me tells me one African team will qualify for quarter finals i wasn’t too sure if it could be Nigeria or South Africa though Morocco is still there but i personally is not giving them much chance but since south Africa is out my focus fully goes to Nigeria. I see us puling through. Let’s wait and see
Please where is Esther Sunday??? Esther on the Right…
Ajibade on the Left would create problems for opposition and creativity for our falcons
You see where our brainless but talkative ex player led us to with their useless exclusive interview on completes ports. na the yeye Oparanozie cost us this match now
