Nigeria Football Federation – NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau has charged the Super Falcons of Nigeria to defeat Australia and make Africa proud.
The Super Falcons of Nigeria will face 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup co-hosts Australia in their second group B match on Thursday July 27.
Speaking ahead of the crucial clash, NFF helmsman Gusau hailed the teams performance in the 0-0 draw vs Canada which leaves them as the only undefeated African flagbearer at the World Cup, after the other three teams suffered defeats in their respective opening group games.
“As nine-time champions of Africa, and one of only seven countries to have played in every edition of the FIFA Women’s World Cup, Nigeria is the real giant and hope of the African continent in Australia, ” the Nigeria Football Federation President said.
” While we expect Morocco, Zambia and South Africa to turn things around in their next matches, my message is that the Super Falcons must focus hard on the ball against the Australians in order to keep Africa’s song going.

“We had an impressive game against Canada, but I want the girls to put that feat out of their minds and focus on the three points against Australia. It can be done,” Gusau charged the Randy Waldrum tutored Super Falcons.
The Super Falcons put up a gallant performance to hold Olympic gold medalist Canada to a goalless draw in a opening round of matches which saw the other African representatives suffering defeats.
Zambia suffered a 0-5 to Japan while South Africa were edged 1-2 by Sweden, and Morocco fell 0-6 to Germany in the first round of matches.
To better their performance Vs Canada, Gusau concluded his message with a charge for the team to score goals.
“I am charging the girls to go all out. This is a match in which we need to score goals.” he concluded.
A win vs Australia will boost Nigeria’s hopes of reaching the knockout stage ahead of their final group game vs debutants Republic of Ireland who will face Canada on matchday two.

Nigeria’s Physical Trainer Raves About The Remarkable Unity In Camp as NFF President Wants Goals
In the build up to the hugely anticipated second group match between Nigeria and hosts Australia, Super Falcons Personal Trainer Kyle Quigley is loving every minute in camp with the ladies.
Despite the administrative turmoil that was widely reported to have engulfed the team earlier, they seem to have found a way to rise above the storm with impeccable focus on the footballing tasks ahead.
The players seem joyous inside their skins and confident of doing themselves and the fans proud in this tournament.
This was encapsulated in the thoughts of Super Falcons Personal Trainer Kyle Quigley as shared his own observations from working close quarters with the team.
“Whatever happens at this World Cup,” stated Kyle on his verified Twitter handle, “all I can say is that these bunch of girls are outstanding.”
“Their attitude and togetherness is on a different level.” He concluded.
Channeling that admirable attitude to profitable effects, NFF President Alhaji Ibrahim Gusau charged the team rachet their performance up a notch by defeating the Australians in their own backyard.
Back to Kyle, the Uefa A coach has been instrumental in working on the fitness of the players and probably helping Randy identify those in optimum physical shape for match day squads.
For me, it has been really encouraging to read about much positivity, professionalism and camaraderie in the camp. It augurs well for how prepared and professional the team will be in facing their oppositions.
Little wonder neutral pundits and observers are starting to see the Super Falcons as one of the truly formidable outfits in the tournament.
The Nigerian girls are back in town!
Defend ur goal from start to finish… Dont listen to wat dey are saying .. the referee wil even make sure Australia win at all cost . So just make sure that no 9 is always in ur first line of defense in front of ur 18 yard …and make sure u practice how to score in the opponent half with two passes and a shot to the net ….
This is the only way u can beat Australia in their home soil .if u decide to attack them aimlessly…they wil counter u and score 4 goals ….
Anyway I no waldrum wil not allow u to open ur yatch to get 4 belly …for Australia men .. u are playing with men . Not girls .
What happens to Zambia and Morocco is none of our business. Gusau should limit his concerns to Nigeria and settle the Super Falcobs
They want the players to perform well without paying their wages. Nigeria we hail thee.
Gusau charges Super falcons……? With NEPA power or with solar batteries…?
Yeye people.
Pay people their moneies, they wouldnt. Yet they will want to savour the taste of one victory after another.
Hahaha… Dr Drey, nor mind this olodo criminal. They actually never really wanted the team to perform; if only to get back on Waldrum to mock him.Thats just how petty these lots can be. They did same to Sampson Siasia.
The fear that the team will excel and to their shame and disgrace is why they feigning support…. I charge you my foot…. Hahaha. Omototerun iranu.
If you’re doing business with the NFF onigbese, you need to hang a big sign on the wall that says “NO CREDIT TODAY. COME TOMORROW”.
Omo Zambia has been cheerfully giving out parcels to all comers ooo. World stage always a different ball game. May God help them not to empty their pocket before heading back home.
Zambia is a newbie here. They lack big game mentality. And CAF, through their zonal qualification programme, won’t allow bigger and more experienced teams participate. It’s appalling.
Okay o, so now it’s Gusau’s turn to charge abi? If him wan charge, mek him charge am for inside im own pocket, awon oniranu rede rede Abeg leave story!!! Nonsense charging!
But @ Glory – my buroda this thing with Zambia no easy oh!
But honestly, the thing that strikes me the most about Zambia is that there is something about their team that is really worrying mehn!
Looking through their team line up – To me sha, I am seeing at least one if not more MEN in that team oh!
We already know that they have form in this type of thing from that athlete (the long distance runner) who is so clearly a man that it could not be more obvious but who is competing in the ladies segment claiming to me a woman – and these ones are not even saying anything at all about what their deal is, at least the Canadians have declared that the man in their team is trying to claim “transgender status” lol however these Zambians seem to be just filling all their women’s team with men these days oh! Chaii
Abeg help me check out that number 11 – Banda please and tell me that is not a man? I rest my case oh! Hmmm!
Ah, I get time oh! lol
Anyway – let me set you straight on a few matters here because you sure are getting it all very twisted indeed.
Firstly – If you’ve seen (or perhaps maybe you have not) but I have written to acknowledge my incorrect assumptions about Quinn – the Canadian – After some research, I have found out that Quinn is in no way a man at all but was born a woman – so while I do acknowledge that error (which I make absolutely no apologies for as it was a genuine error based on a lack of correct information) I do not expect to be attacked for making an innocent mistake – He who has no sin let him/her cast the first stone..
But I completely refute your claim that I have an obsession with legal transgenders and I never said there was anything wrong with LGBT people (as human beings but just the lifestyle choices they are making) – I truly believe that it is a sin and those indulging in it are probably bound for hell unless they repent and change their ways..
It is very obvious that it is You who is Obsessed with such things as the LGBTQ or the “Alphabet peeps” as they are called and the transgenders – whether legal or not..
I resent being accused of “chasing” anyone anywhere let alone away as you say – In fact I have absolutely no idea of what or whom you are referring to when you say that – so how I can be accused of chasing away something or someone I know zero, zilch about is very rich indeed and far fetching beyond any reasonable terms..
Finally, If you really believe that thinking LGBTQ (ism) or trans gender(ism) is a sin, is wrong and sinful, then I have news for you my friend, that is not the sin at all…it is believing in such or worse still participating in same that is a sin and if you really do believe in that then it is You my friend who needs repentance so you can receive forgiveness… but again, don’t get it twisted because believe it or not, I am a very liberal person and have nothing personally against anybody – The only reasons why I am saying these things are:
1) You called me out, accusing me of things you have imagined that I am guilty of which I clearly am not…and
2) I truly would not like to see people not be told the truth about life one way or another, and the reasoning behind that is that I have a lot of love and compassion for all my fellow human beings and would hate to see anyone fall foul of righteous judgement on judgement day.
You, NFF, and Gusau have no shame at all. If Falcons behave like you, the NFF won’t be talking like this. Good luck to Super Falcons. Ire o. God bless Nigeria!!!
A soccer team should not be called Falcons if they cannot attack. Against Australia there’ll be no place to hide and defend.
