Coco Gauff defeated Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus in the final of the women’s singles at the 2023 US Open to land her first-ever Grand Slam title.
Gauff came from a set down to defeat Sabalenka, who won the 2023 Australian Open.
At 19 years she is the youngest American US Open champion since Serena Williams in 1999.
Sabalenka took the first set 6-2 but Gauff fought back to take the second set 6-3.
In the final set, Gauff emerged top by 6-2 to land her first major title.
The men’s singles final, which comes up on Sunday, will see Russia’s Daniil Medvedev take on Serbia’s Novak Djokovic.
