Two-time Australian Open champion Belarusia’s Victoria Azarenka, has crashed out of this year’s US Open after losing to Lin Zhu of China in the second round on Wednesday.
Zhu triumphed over the former world number one straight sets of 6-3, 6-3.
No. 18 seed Azarenka kicked off her 16th US Open campaign in convincing fashion with a straight-sets win against wildcard Fiona Ferro.
The 29-year-old Chinese star Zhu reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 33.
She attained her best WTA doubles ranking of 90 on 6th February 2023
