That’s good but that No 9 is not good
Kudos to coach Ladan Bosso, his coaching staff and the players!
I said here sometime last week that this is a talented side. The trepidation was mainly because of our poor record against South American teams particularly Argentina and the inconsistency of our players.
It was a dogged performance by our players, with a large dose of luck. But sometimes in life, you make your own luck.
Argentina was not going to score today even if the match was played for another 100+ minutes. It just wasn’t meant to be for them.
We’ll take the victory and move on.
But it is not yet uhuru.
Fredrick and Nnadi deserve a 9. He is a great defender to be. A future SuperEagles captain that reminds me of the great Stephen Keshi in his playing days. Along with that Taribo like Ogwuche. I’ve been looking for this kind of defenders for a long time. Chop anybody head off kinda defenders.
No Messi, no party.
Adios, Argentina. Till we meet again.
The odds were really against them. Thank God for the victory

FIFA U-20 World Cup: How Flying Eagles Rated In Victory Over Argentina
By Niyi Busari
Flying Eagles of Nigeria on Wednesday night shocked Argentina with a 2-0 win in the Round of 16 of the FIFA U20 World Cup to qualify for the quarter-final of the competition, BSNSports.com.ng can report.
The Ladan Bosso led boys were well-coordinated in the midfield, defensively and got it right in front of goal post to post an unbelievable performance in front of the Argentines (the home crowd).
This is how the players were rated after Wednesday splendid display.
CHIJIOKE ANIAGBOSO 8/10
The goalkeeper composed himself and made good saves in the game and also contributed to the two goals scored by the Flying Eagles.
DANIEL BAMEYI 8/10
After not-too-convincing performance at the centrr-back, he was moved to the right-back position again after the 2-0 defeat to Brazil. Contributed to the attack and defended very well to disallow the Argentines the opportunity to penetrate through the denfense
BENJAMIN FREDERICK 7/10
A very calm and calculative defender. Proved his class with another solid showing in central defence.
ABEL OGWUCHE 7/10
The Trelleborgs FF of Sweden defender is having a good tournament. Another good performance from the centre-back.
SOLOMON AGBALAKA 7/10

SAMSON LAWAL 7/10
Worked real hard in midfield to keep the Argentines at bay.
TOCHUKWU NNADI 7/10
He was selected ahead of Victor Eletu and didn’t disappoint his coaches. His well-calculated approach to the ball broke the deadly plans of the Argentines.
IBRAHIM MUHAMMED 7/10
The versatile winger scored his first goal of the tournament. An improved performance from previous games.
JUDE SUNDAY 5/10
A poor performance from the winger. He was duly replaced early in the second half by the effective Haliru Sarki.

I saw the name, even on soccernet, I think CS or the others go to each other websites copy n paste…. Na Dem know sha.
The team was very effective but my MOM is Fredricks does he ever put a foot wrong??? Crossing he is very calculative, Headers can not invade him, tackling he’s a beast and his movement on the ball is like that of Anthony Izuchukwu who bosses at the CB with commanding footworks. This is where Bameyi must learn because I saw how he puts the team under pressure by playing to throw in near our yards even when opposing players is not close to him…. National team coaches must not invite Bameyi over Fredrick again I don’t mind Bameyi versatility because he is not good enough on the Ball and that should not be encouraged. Daga to the world nobody has to explain this!!!
Frederick is an intelligent defender no doubt but slagging Bameyi off is a No No for me.I think he’s well suited as a right back for the flying eagles and has shown great leadership both as a player and a leader.
Bameyi no doubt is a very tough tackling defender hard as a nail and in addition, take his job seriously.
His determination, astuteness and resoluteness will endear him to eminence.
Bameyi is not talented like Fredricks no wonder he can not calculate the flight of the ball or keep possession and make a decent pass when under pressure. His only upside is the clear balls from defence thing he does. Huh go back to the Brazil match or yesterday’s highlights and see how he jitters when in possession. He also caused the two goals against Brazil check the highlights and he has refused to improve. Maybe because he can pass instructions that is why Bosso is trusting him to lead the team. I hope the gamble continues to go well!!!
I find it really hard slamming a single player a team’s failure. It’s a no no for me. Any team sport like like football is like a parliament. There is always this collective responsibility.
Always take note of your team weakness and work on. It else it will catch up with you one day. E.g was Ancelloti benching Rudiger that helped Madrid curtail Mancity alongside Alaba to go and play defensive dumbo Militao and the rest is history. A lot of people don’t take note like their opponents that is why they crumble before they know it.
Standout performers is the team and the crew. But una see that Daniel Daga, Frederick , Ogwuche, Nnadi and Eletu ehn…..those guys are too good…they just need to continue to improve. Daga was a beast in the midfield, Frederick and Ogwuche na busstop at the back. And the coach has been spot on with his changes, so far so good. Emmanuel and Halkiru always making impacts when brought on. Kudos to the entire team
I CONGRATULATE all the team members and the coaching crew they made us proud.
Let me disagree with rating given the goalkeeper, our gk is still a suspect, he has not been too convincing, he panics too easily even when he kick the ball he falls even when opponent is far, I love his height but sentiment apart, he lack confidence btw the sticks, SBD SHD LET THE COACH LOOK INTO THIS MATTER FOR HIS OWN GOOD AND THE TEAM.i rate him 6.5.
He’s not in the best of mind starting from the tournament but I think he is improving from whatever form or ailment that made him jittery lately. I also advise him to stop that suicide deal of Ukraine war that only begun due to counteroffensive operations that they lately resumed.
