When you find yourself in pot 3 expect to have two giants in your group,it shouldn’t be a surprise.
Now that we know our group opponents the preparation begins. Please coach go for the best talents available, home and abroad.
Thankfully,4 best losers are guaranteed a place in the knockout stages so let’s not panic too much about early elimination due to the presence of Brazil and Italy.
With the list of Flying Eagle Players released by Ladan Boso, Nigeria has no chance against Brazil and Italy. But for Dominica Republic, a slim win over them. If NFF and Ladan Boso can put politics, quota system and nepotism aside and select Nigerian best U-20 irrespective of tribe and state they come from, Flying Eagle have a better chance. But not forgetting Ladan Boso technical abilities! He too need to work on himself. My heart is beating so fast already for Ladan Boso team.
Our first game is against the Dominican republic if we don’t win that game then we have no business qualifying for the next stage..
Our second match is against Italy and they didn’t do so well in the European qualifies..
If we win first and second game we draw or win.. we will qualify for the next round
If dey are meeting Dominica 1st den dey. Shud. Score many goals. Not 4 or 5 because Italy and Brazil wil score up to 7 goals against dominos. Honduras gave Dem 7 and u s scored Dem. 6 goals.
.Can Bosso’s Boys Navigate Its Group?.
Bosso and his boys have their work cut out from the off in this year’s Under-20 tournament.
Nigeria have to trade football-blows with mighty Italy, Brazil and dark horses Dominican Republic in this year’s Under-20 World Cup.
The much unpopular coach has stuck by and large with the same flock of players that has brought him cumulative moderate success in the Wafu Zone B and Afcon qualifier tournaments.
It is a decent outfit if we are to be honest with ourselves. What they lack in individual skills and footballing aptitude, they strive to make up for in teamwork, focus and determination.
But I still feel that Bosso shoots himself in the foot by casting his scouting net farther and wider to capture Under-20 players with far greater technical capabilities and tactical nouse than his current assemblage.
As happened in the Under-20 Afcon, I hope and pray that this lack of quality indepth will not be his achilles heel in the tournament.
One saving grace is that three teams can potentially make it out of the groups which enhances the possibility of seeing Bosso’s boys in the second round.
Will the second round be the summit of their ambitions, who knows? We will just have to wait and see.
My guess is that Bosso is banking on his (extended) time with this group of players to be his Trump card. There is wisdom in that afterall, in football the sum really should be greater than the sum of its individual parts.
In football, we have seen average teams with minimal technical depth but maximum level of understanding and coordinating slay dragons in various tournaments.
As a whole, Bosso’s team are credible if not formidable in my eyes. But being formidable is what they have to be if they are to go far in this tournament.
Good luck!
Correction @deo – “in football the WHOLE really should be greater than the sum of its individual parts” nice post btw there’s Wisdom in continuity.
Thanks bro.
The young Brazilians I’ve being watching will destroy Ladan Bosso and his overaged team. When you watch the current Brazilian U-20 play, you can easily mistake them for their senior national team. I haven’t seen much from Italy but I don’t think Ladan Bosso’s team stand any chance, not with talentless and overaged players. Truth is bitter.
I’ll prefer Manu Garba or Nduka Ugbade to handle the team. They’re the real youth coaches
“Overage“ what makes you so sure about that?Any proof to back up your claims?

So you think these guys are teenagers? Those are serious men in their late twenties and early thirties. Lets be honest for once.
They’re teenagers.I have no reasons to dispute that.
Please spare me that old cliche. Not interesting anymore so overused.
You all be surprised to see Nigeria top the group!!
