I need a good analysis without bias to look and direct the duel btw FE v BRA. Tell us all possibilities of each side winning.
Another solid test awaits Bosso and his wards it can only be good for the boys to test their mights and learn before the Knockout phase where there will be no room for slip.
If Brazil beat the F. Eagles 2-0 they will be on 6 points +7 goals.
The F. Eagles will on 6 points + 1 goal.
If the Italians beat D. Rep by 3-0 they will be on 6 points + 2 goals.
1st Brazil – 6 points +7 goals
2nd Italy – 6 points + 2 goals
3rd Nig – 6 points + 1 goal.
How then have the F. Eagles qualified for the next round already? Is as best 3rd placed? I don’t understand, somebody should please explain.
Yes there is room for third best teams.
When we are equal on same point, the first team they consider is head to head win… We won Italy so we will definitely be above Italy no matter the number of goals they score..
Okay now I understand why we’ve already qualified for the round of 16. Haven beaten two teams already the worst position we finish in, is second based on the head to head rule.
I made a mistake here yesterday..
I just checked the fifa rule for this tournament..
Goal difference is considered first before what happened when the both side played will be considered..
Means that if Italy wins with a high goal margin ( like 6-0) against the Dominican republic,, and we lose to Brazil.. we will drop to third and qualify as best losers..
What we need to top the group is a draw or a win against Brazil.. coming second will be trouble as we would face the English team in the second stage.
Nigeria will need to be strong on the wings defensively to stop this Brazil team, one of the main reasons why the FE was able to beat Italy was because the Italians were far to narrow and were insistent on playing through the middle against a solid Nigerian Center which led to their attacks breaking down and subsequent Nigerian counter attacks. Brazil on the other hand are more athletic and were able to combine it with intricate wing play to pummel Dom.Republic. So should Nigeria avoid being dragged around by Brazil then they stand a good chance of getting a positive result.
Brazil has the best players but the worst coaches. How on Earth a 40-year-old player Daniel Alves can be in Brazil’s squad for WC 2022?
I learnt from a source that the coach Ladan Bosso was planning to field a second string team against Brazil. While it may be a good tactics to rest players ahead of the knockout phase, group positioning also matters as it determines who you face next. Again a win or a draw will boost the psyche of the players ahead of the knockout round. Unless Bosso is 100% confident in his bench, he should not try it. Let him feature his first eleven because it will bring about more cohesion in the team. One thing I noticed against Brazil is that they make use of spaces and also are very good shooters. If we are not compact against them, they WILL whitewash us on Saturday. We need a result against Brazil!
