Confederation of African Football (CAF) has described Flying Eagles forward Jude Sunday as a star in the making, following his impressive performance in Friday’s third-place play-off against Tunisia at the U-20 AFCON.
Sunday, who made his debut in the tournament against Tunisia netted a brace as the Flying Eagles won 4-0.
He got the Flying Eagles’ third goal after dribbling past a couple of Tunisians before hitting a left-foot strike.
Late in the game, Sunday got his brace and the Flying Eagles’ fourth with a superb volley into the roof of the net.
And commenting on Sunday’s performance, CAF wrote on their U-20 AFCON Twitter handle:”WHAT A PLAYER! WHAT A PERFORMANCE!
“Two stunning goals, TotalEnergies Man of the Match 👏.
“Jude Sunday is a star in the making 💫.”
The Flying Eagles and Tunisia have already qualified for this year’s FIFA U-20 World Cup Indonesia.
Meanwhile, the final of the U-20 AFCON will hold today, Saturday, March 11, between Senegal and Gambia.

Why is it that he only Made his debut in a dead rubber match. This is my problem with Local coaches. Their favoritism and tried and tested mentality is too much.
Bosso was just promoting less talented players of Northern Nigeria to market then for his cronies and get his cut. That’s why this stupid coaches always hunt for national team positions.
That Adamu wearing number 10 has no business in that team, likewise The number 19 Adams Olamilekun, the number 7 Haliru Sarki. Those guys should make way from the team, the number 17 also, Abubakar Ayuba has no place in the team. Those ones are players with godfathers…

Thumbs up brotherman Jimmy. You have said it all.
Thumbs up brotherman Ugo. You are one of the best Forumites here. Jude Sunday is a star in the making. He will go far.

It was coaching malpractice to have kept Jude Sunday on the bench all this while, even as our attack struggled and struggled. Tells you everything you need to know about where their interests lie.
Now… We know Victor Osimhen is our number one point man but we have guys who could really contribute different dynamics to the Super Eagles team now.
If in the next roll call we don’t see Chuba Akpom and Victor Boniface on the list of invited players to Super Eagles, guys know that we have enemies of Nigeria running our football like Amaju Pinnick did.
See Victor Boniface below, this guy may play in a lesser league but to be honest, in my opinion I feel he has better all round game than even Victor Osimhen and will greatly support Osimhen to good ends on our attack.

Enjoy the clip.
Yes In concur Jimmy Ball. Victor Boniface is simply world class. He will make a perfect partner for Victor Osimhen in the Super Eagles. I hoipe Coach Peseiro is watcking and taking note of this fantastic striker/ winger
Nigeria, Up Nigeria. If Jimmy Ball and his own Brother, Victor Boniface don’t play for Nigeria now, we, all of us, should call out all Nigerian youth to riot in Lagos, Abuja, Benin City, Warri and in Kano. We will not live out Port Harcourt and close Onisha market also. Look at all their games over and over again, you will see what the Lord God has done for us in Nigeria.
Coach Peseiro, you have got (3) three World-Class players at your disposal today, there is no excuse anymore.
It is obvious bosso favoured sarki but let’s not blame him much.. if you followed the team prior to the start of the tournament you would see that sarki was the most outstanding player, how he lost form when it mattered most is what people cannot understand.. anyway it happens in football , player lose form..
My only problem with bosso was his constant usage of amini to the extent of giving him no 10 shirt, that is a huge blunder and shows favoritism..I have followed this team since wafu b amini has never performed in any match , very poor with his passes and has no business with this team.. the only good thing about amini are his corner kicks..
New players in midfield and in attack are badly needed if not we won’t make any significant impact in the world cup
…@Ololo I get you clearly. But whatever Sarki showed in camp is what Huasas call Barazana. Flashy showoff… When it mattered in real Match situations he was lost. His quality does not measure up, likewise Aminu, Amina played in defence in U-17 of 2019 another occasion of quota system import also.
Bosso should be let go, when a Nigeria coach comes and decides do either stick with 442, 433 without really trying to used 4231 or 352 which is what stand out in this modern times are tactical structure what ensures balance play… then I know such coach has no real tactical hammer. What how Nduka Ugabde team will play at U-17. You will know you have a real Nigerian team.
But guys Jude Sunday played vituslly all the matches albeit as a sub for Sarki, so this game isn’t his debut na. This is d 1st game he started, same with the Abdulahi (#9). But i agree, after the 1st two games of Sarki started and seeing he flopped, Bosso should have made a decision to start Sunday instead bcos even in games he came on as a sub, he added some impetus to the FE attack, but in truth he too was below average liie dvrest of d team to be sincere. This team needs major overhauling with only a max of 7 players kept from diz set in my view. Ogebelu, Daga, Frederick, Bamaiyi, Agbalaka, ogwuche, and Njoku
I don’t agree.. if you saw the games from Senegal to Tunisia it was clear that Sunday troubled defenders in all the games he came in, he was always brought in late to replace sarki even when all could see that sarki was struggling,he was still playing and starting games.. this is one problem with local coaches. My boy syndrome! Why not play the best legs irrespective of their tribe or place of birth…
These team is not as bad as many think they are.. very good defense, a good goalkeeper aside his fumbling in the last game , an average midfield, the celeb guy is way better than aminu yet he was kept to waste on the bench, my only problem is the attack, Muhammad was all alone and needed help.. many people are talking about our no9 that boy is good , forget the red card and missed penalty , it can happen to anyone .. what the game need are few additions on the wing, a good right back, a good midfielder and a deeply striker to assist that no 9 .. those other strikers should be dropped.. they don’t have any business with the game.. our strikers had many game time but it was the only one that got red carded and missed game that scored the only striker goal in the tournament.. they should go and rest, abubakar and lekan
My broda like i said he (Sunday) added bite to d attack but its only bcos d wingers (sarki especially) were terrible dat Sunday’s flaws were not as noticeable. Isn’t it d same Sunday dat was running over d ball in several games, dribbling without purpose?. My broda i saw all d matches live and d team needs major overhauling, the problem i see here is d time factor, we don’t have enough time, overhauling d entire team with only a few months to d tournament might be counterproductive but i do believe infusion of new quality players (like d inter and ac milan boys, d crystak palace striker and ozoh, d arsenal boy ideho and some local boys) is paramount. I 4got to include mohamned (#11) in dat my list of players to retain, he is a good player but needs to also improve, those wayward shots from distance no follow but he is a goid player. I agree dat our #9 too isn’t too bad (wen compared tovd ither forwards in d team presently) but in truth its bcos the other forwards are just terrible. I do hold on to d hope dat the team will keep improve with some additional players both local and foreign.
Nigeria always waste time in capping all these foreign born players when they show up for trials with our youth teams claiming they are not strong enough for African football, ideho will be called up for dutch u 21,ozoh also will be called up for england amd the crystal palace striker will be called up by england before we even plan to assemble them for the world cup proper
This is because the coaches at the age grade level are allowed to conduct business with the team selections without been checked by anyone including the NFF….SAD but true
