Completesports.com’s ADEBOYE AMOSU appraises the performance of Flying Eagles players in their 1-0 win against the Hippos of Uganda in a quarter-final clash at the 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations….
CHIJOKE ANIGBOSO 8/10
The Giant Brillars goalkeeper made a number important saves in the game. One of the key reasons why the Flying Eagles are in the semi-final.
AUGUSTINE NJOKU 6/10
Had a torrid time coping against the Ugandan defence. Not his best performance for the Flying Eagles.
BENJAMIN FREDERICK 8/10
Another solid display from the centre-back. Made a number of important blocks in the game.
ABEL OGWUCHE 8/10
Slotted in perfectly for the suspended captain Daniel Bamaiyi. A commanding display from the defender.
SOLOMON AGBALAKA 8/10
Did well to ward off the threat of the Ugandans. The left-back further enhanced his reputation as one of the stars of the competition.
ABEL OGWUCHE 6/10
Started the game strongly but fizzled out a bit in the second half.
MOHAMMED AMINU 7/10
Impressed once again at the heart of the midfield. He was replaced by Adams Olamilekan on 70 minutes.
SAMSON LAWAL 7/10
Proved his class once again. Unlucky to miss out on the Man of the Match award.
HALIRU SARKI 7/10
Improved from his previous outing. Made few incursions into the opponents area.
AYUBA ABUBAKAR 7/10
The forward was a thorn in the flesh of Ugandans in the game. Unlucky not to get a goal in the game.
IBRAHIM MUHAMMED 7/10
Had a hand in the goal with his shot deflected into the net for the winner.
SUBSTITUTES
ADAMS OLAMILEKAN 4/10
He was largely ineffective following his introduction in the second half.
JUDE SUNDAY 5/10
Gave a good account of himself after taking the place of Haliru Sarki 20 minutes from time.

Ladan Bosso has not improved at all and i don’t know why Nff keep going back to the likes of Bosso who has nothing to show for the numerous opportunities he had been given in the past. Watching our boys play against Uganda , it was obvious that the Ugandans were more balanced and technical in their play.
The standard of our football have fallen sharply but Ladan Bosso have to look for an Osimhen like striker and well built midfielders.
My guy rest, Bosso is the best. You should be grateful. He qualified the Flying Eagles team for the world cup with games to spare. Is this not good enough?
