Flying Eagles head coach, Ladan Bosso is upbeat on the chances of his team at the ongoing 2023 Africa U-20 Cup of Nations despite the disappointing loss to Senegal.
The seven-time champions lost 1-0 to the Cubs in their opening Group B tie at the Cairo International Stadium on Sunday.
Sulaymane Faye scored the decisive goal five minutes from half-time.
Despite the setback Bosso insists they will recover to excel in the tournament being played in Egypt.
“We take advantage of tournaments like this in order to develop our level and work to fix our mistakes,” Bosso was quoted by CAFonline.

President of Nigerian Coaches this is an u20 tournament that we have won 7 times with fellow local coaches I expect this to be walk in the park for you. I hope you finally win your first trophy because WAFU tournament is just a side dish.
I see the loss as blessing in disguise for Nigeria.
The boys will now up their games with all seriousness.
God bless Nigeria.
Yes the team will bounce back and probably win the championship. Very possible. But that will come with giving every iota of strength, energy, skill in them, that nothing maybe left to give when the world cup starts proper. Except they go on to bring few more decent players especially in that attacking midfield position, the defence n striking position. Atleast 5 more decent players in those positions as well as creating others options of play besides this archaic reliance on wing play will save the head of the Bosso lead coaching crew.
By NFF’s standards, this coach and his team seemed to have been supported well. I’m aware, yesterday was their first game in the tournament. There was nothing in their performance yesterday that inspires any kind of confidence going forward, however.
Egypt certainly will not fail to qualify out of this group. Senegal, look set to make it out of this group, as well. And whatever the result of the next set of matches in this group, Mozambique will have qualification slot to play for in that final match against us.
It’s not looking good.
The FE might bounce back and qualify for the WC. But we need to call a spade a spade. The performance was awful Just one shot at goal throughou the firation of the match is really pathetic and disgraceful.
The other i raised some concerns about MO of players selection for this tournament. How come youthful and talented players making rave reviews across top clubs including Ideho and the Crystal player got dropped, someone felt otherwise.
I expressed a suspicious red flag on the selection of a player who did not partake in the screening at the expense of these foreign players who left their clubsides to show loyalty to their motherland, the same forumite defended this unholy action.
When these youthful lads become senior players in EPL and refuse to commit to Super Eagles, no one should blame them.
That Southamptom GK, Bazunu could have been our saving grace for GK position but we ignored him when he showed glimpses of greatness.
Now there are numerous youthful and talented foreign born GKs and I’m not sure if there is any plan to integrate them into SE…
The main reason for excluding foreign born players in youth teams is obvious, Foreign born players no dey give shi ahi…
Football is not about bouncing back and forth. Its a game of individual skills and teamwork. It appesrs Bosso doesn’t know these basics
Hahahaaaaa.
The team is Good at the back and in the midfield. Not good at the front: no dribbling tactics to go past the defense line, inbox balls, and no shooting.
I am afraid of the team’s progress.
