The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) has called on Nigerians to vote for Super Eagles striker in the 2023 The Best FIFA Men’s Player award.
Osimhen was nominated for the award alongside current holder Lionel Messi, Erling Haaland, Kevin De Bruyne and Kylian Mbappe.
Football fans are expected to vote for the player they feel should win the award.
The NFF took to their X (formerly known as Twitter) handle to lobby for votes for the Napoli striker.
“Vote for our own @victorosimhen9 here’s the link to do so fifa.com/the best fifa,” they posted.
Osimhen was a key factor as Napoli won the 2022/23 Serie A title scoring 26 goals and notching four assists in 32 games in the division.
He has scored three goals in four league games for the Partenopei this campaign.
Napoli are fifth in the Serie A table this season with seven points after four matches.
Osimhen finished top scorer in the 2023 AFCON qualifier with 10 goals.
He scored a hat-trick in the Super Eagles’ 6-0 win against São Tomé and Principe in the final qualifier in Uyo.

Good reminder from NFF ONIGBESE.
Naija fans also call on NFF to pay to the last kobo Osimhen’s match bonuses, also plus including (as Chief Zebrudaya would say) all the other male and female players’ bonuses, and all coaches’ salaries.
Are you are, please epp us and abolish all the gbese, so that everybody will be happy, and our football can meeeuuuve.
Thanks very much in advance for your anticipated cooperation.
I’ve voted since yesterday
Make una no waste your data. Even some Napoli fans wil not vote for him. Maybe when he gets to the level of Weah then he can be considered.
Very stupid comment @Justin, Nigerians who don’t follow ball its better you just keep quiet to avoid sounding stupid. Mind you he has already Surpassed Weah’s level in goals scored in Seria A.. also when Weah played i didn’t see any player scoring at the Level of Haaland or Cr7 or Messi even Mbappe which is to show you times have changed and competition is stiffer next time keep Quiet if you don’t understand football dynamics.
@ Justin, You don’t have sense at all.
No wahala, will come back and remind your dumb self how many votes he got
Osimhen surely deserves our votes and everything else that is needed. For instance if every Nigerian fan makes calls to friends for this purpose, it will help a lot. Explanation’s on how a person can vote, is equally necessary.
For the first time in a long time, we now have a true center- forward in every sense of it.
I wish him good luck.
