Super Eagles captain, Ahmed Musa has said the team will go all out for a win against Guinea-Bissau in Friday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture.
Jose Peseiro’s charges will entertain the Djurtus in a matchday three encounter at the Moshood Abiola Stadium, Abuja.
The Super Eagles won their opening two games in Group A b against Sierra Leone and Sao Tome and Principe.
Another win in this encounter will further boost their chances of securing a place in Cote d’ l voire 2023.
“We all know the importance of thi game and we are not taking things easy. We played Guinea-Bisssu at the AFCON and it was tough against them,” Musa told a press conference on Thursday.

“They are a difficult opponent. We are playing at home, in front of our fans, we are going for victory so that we can have one more step to the AFCON.”
The Super Eagles were held to a 1-1 draw at home around this time last year by the Black Stars of Ghana.
The result cost them a place at the 2022 FIFA World Cup hosted by Qatar.
Musa stated that the team is keen to avoid a repeat of same scenario this time around.
“We know what happen a year ago here against Ghana. That is behind us now. This is the AFCON qualifier and we want to make the fans happy,” Musa, who plays for Turkish club, Sivasspor added.
“We know the hardship that is currently going on in the country and football is the only thing that unite Nigerians. We want to make them happy.”

Our CAPTAIN!
Hugo Loris retired from international football not because he is no longer playing top flight football but because he was honest enough to know that it was time to step aside…….Benzema retired from international football even though he is currently the best player in the world……..But Musa who deep inside him knows that he can no longer play top level football refused to retire from international football to face his remaining club football career….. Normally players quit national team football before hanging up their boot but it seems Musa will hang his boots before quiting national team football………Musa is only registered with a club in Europe inorder to keep getting his national team call ups…….All rules and parameters used in national team selection doesn’t apply to him…….His long legs at the NFF coupled with the satanic greed of the people saddled with the responsibility of managing our football has made it possible for Musa to always armtwist any SE coach to always include him in his plans…….If this practice is not the height of wickedness then I wonder what is……. Nigeria is currently blessed with young upcoming wingers that can do something different but nobody is talking about them…….I wonder what Musa can do now that he has not been able to do for the almost 17 years he has been playing in our national team…….I wonder what new trick he has that we have not seen him use for the past 17 years of watching him play for SE…….Does Nigeria owe Musa anything?……Does the national team now belongs to certain individuals?….. With all this practice do we still expect success and silverware?…..so many questions unanswered.
Let all those BENZEMA is this but RETIRED not DECEIVE you o…
The FRENCH TEAM know what they are doing ooo…
it’s not WISE to just allow all your EXPERIENCE PLAYERS leave like that…
REASON they have an EXPERIENCE and OLD LEG in the PERSON of GIROUD who is even 36 YEARS…
to pass that EXPERIENCE to the TEAM and INSPIRE the YOUNGER once, WE need people like AHMED MUSA who is only 30 Years….
Giroud is currently an Italian champion with AC Milan my dear friend…… Giroud is the 6th highest goal scorer in the SeriaA…… Giroud is going to be playing in the Uefa champions league quarter final with Our own star man Osimhen….. Giroud and Musa should not even appear on the same sentence……. Giroud is in the French team not because of experience but because he is playing top level football….. simple
Oya na travel to ABUJA go and DRAG MUSA out of the TEAM….
LMFAO!!!
we have players like victor boniface aka the new john Utaka and other players waiting for a chance to make their mark on the team but we have a none playing captain who keeps getting invites to sit on the bench and get more caps while adding nothing to the teams performance on the field of play. hmmmm i hope he proves me wrong in this game and shows why he keeps being invited at the expense of other younger and talented players
I really like what I’ve seen of Bonhface and Orban. The former is a direct, skilful and robust player whose partnership with Osimhen in the attack will be very interesting to see. The Orban guy is a different character all together. He’s got the pace, the skill and a perfect goal scoring sense. I would like to see him in number 8 position, just behind Osimhen
These are the kind of experiments the coach should be doing during friendly matches, not just bringing dormant inactive players like Onuachu and Musa
So Guinea-Bissau is now a tough Opponent in Africa for Nigeria? Na wa o!
So what about countries like Cameron, Algeria, Egypt, Senegal, etc? What shall we describe them?
@monkey post…..if I can not drag Musa out of SE does it make his continuous criminal inclusion in SE right?……What is wrong is wrong no matter what…….I can not drag our leaders in Nigeria out of power but that doesn’t make their destruction of Nigeria the right thing…… someone must speak out no matter the avenue I have to speak out……. Posterity will judge everyone including those that kept quiet and allowed evil prevail.
@Akp please bro do not waste you breath on a person like @Monkey Post the guy does not reason well we all know that.
Hello Beauties.
Messi still plays for Argentina, Ronaldo still plays for Portugal, Modric still plays for Croatia. Musa still plays for Nigeria. All you lovely men criticising Musa, stop it. Love you.
Solo u be fool
Thank you SOLO please tell me your location so I can waybill some hot bottles of beer for you all for that wonderful point you just made…
Love you Monkey post. Xxx
@Solo Makinde Musa, Cannot even lace the boots who are 3 rd choice to those players in thier national teams talkless of those players. Please dont compare players that are tiers ahead of Musa to Musa. if we must compare let us use constructive arguments not delusional ones. Thank you
@AKP it is more CRIMINAL to always ATTACK MUSA who is just there to provide INSPIRATION and MOTIVATION for the YOUNG LADS…
Must everyone PLAY TOP LEVEL FOOTBALL?
MUSA has been there, done that, and the EXPERIENCE he is ready to share with the team but you are just there hating
@MONKEY POST what more inspiration and motivatiob do they need than a Player like Osimhen who is doing what he is doing on the World Stage. Mind you how senior is Ndidi now, How Senior is Kelechi Now?, How senior is Iwobi now.. How senior is even Simon Moses who place is also in question? are these not players who have WC’s and AFCONS under thier belt?. This thing of Musa being there to provide inspiration is outdated and it shows how deluded some of you are it is 2023 for goodness sake and we just missed our on WC 2022 and did poorly at AFCON 2022 what did his “SO CALLED” Inspirational presence bring us in 2022. If something fails is in not time to change it. Oh but no No bve Naija We dey.. What Rubbish!!!
