Newly invited Super Eagles defender, Jordan Torunarigha has revealed that he’s ready to prove his worth if given the opportunity to play against Sao Tome and Principe in Sunday’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier in Uyo.
After made 31 appearances for Germany from U-15 to U-21 levels, Torunarigha, switched allegiance to represent Nigeria at senior international level, in a bid to follow in the footsteps of his father, Ojokojo Torunarigha.

However, in a chat with NFF TV, the 26-year-old KAA Gent centre-back has described the mood in the Super Eagles camp as peaceful.
He also noted that the duo of William Troost-Ekong and Jamiu Collins have made it easy for him to gel with the team.\
“It is nice to meet the players and I think all of them are really nice people. It is also nice to train with big players like Osimhen and Chukwueze,” Torunarigha said.
“Captain Troost-Ekong and Collins have really helped me to find my spot in Eagles. This is my first call-up and I hope I will be given time to show the fans, who have been criticizing me for denying Nigeria all through, what I am made of. I am a young guy and I want to show Nigerians what I can offer.”

At 26 you snubbed Nigeria for ages when you were at your peak in German clubs, after German national team snubbed you and your club football nosedived to Belgium you come remember Nigeria. Goodluck
And Nigeria will accept him and confuse his accepting the invite as patriotism, lol then say Nigeria does not beg and then will be proud. yet when it is time to court players with supreme talent that are in demand by both the European Nation and Nigeria like Saka, Eze and Olise they will say Nigeria does not beg anybody they must come and beg Nigeria forgetting that the European nation only has to put facts infront of the players. i.e Monies and Bonuses are guaranteed retirement package is guaranteed they will be acknowledeged better after retirement , let me use Victor Moses as an example a winger who chose Nigeria over England was our Standout Winger during his National team days did more for Nigeria than Musa ever did Benched Musa when they played together got us AFCON Glory 2013 and also qualified us for WC in 2018 yet instead of convincing him out of retirement by giving him the armband which no one can argue he deserved it more than Musa thy criminally CAP Musa for 105 caps when he should have been no longer capped after his 70th CAP. things like this is what big players like SAKA will be aware off and instead of Nigeria to go all out to reassure them that they will be well looked after if they choose Nigeria over the European nation dem go come use misplaced arrogance to try and court the player. no shakes na we will keep losing big players with that mentality. Destiny Udojie who we should have attempted to cap and convince who is stronger than this dude we rather settle and delude ourselves na wa o
Spot on I really do love his presence in the team but by his words he can’t say simple sorry for the words he used at Nigeria back then, rather he’s saying that he will perform on pitch like say we never see performance or Gent players before. No be Yobo Marshall for SE and Everton back then??? See comment below from Sean some people funny sha.
People should just stop all these talks of “when Germany rejected him, he accepted Nigeria “ the question is do we need him? Are we ok and comfortable with those we’ve been parading? Thank God we were able to win Guinea by 3-2 away. Let’s go back and see those two goals conceded or May be we’ve forgotten the 4 goals against Portugal so soon, May be we’ve forgotten that Troost-Ekong scores one own goal in 3-4 games.
Presently, Germany are re-building. That’s why you’ll see the likes of Kariim Adeyemi , even Kevin Schade of brendford in their team all these players are average and not better than Tella and Chukwueze. This Jordan chose Gent ahead of Westham utd back then. I remember the transfer like yesterday. Even though I condemned him on the decision back then. Who says Germany can’t call him up assuming he chose westHam? Let’s appreciate him for coming please. He came in at the right time.
Are you making sense??? This same boy said he feels more German that Nigeria should leave him alone, e b like menopause dey do you that is why you no remember anything. Yes our defence is dirty and wacky but truth must be said and Jordan can do better with apology than what he wrote above…. Make we get sense for this country o….
May be you should continue with the sense you get and go start riot say make him no play. As e be say na you get sense past.
I don’t expect everybody to reason with me but there will always be the wise ones
