Completesports.com’s JAMES AGBEREBI rates the performance of Super Eagles players in their dominant 6-0 win against São Tomé and Principe, in their final 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifying fixture on Sunday.
Francis Uzoho: 6/10
Had a quiet game as São Tomé never really posed much threat but dealt well with the handful of attacks the visitors made
Ola Aina: 6/10
Carried out his defensive duties well and also supported the attack on a number of occasions.
Semi Ajayi: 6/10
Put in a matured and composed performance in the heart of the defence and helped in snuffing out some of the few threats from the visitors.
Calvin Bassey: 6/10
Just like his defensive partner, the Fulham star had a brilliant display in helping the Eagles secure the comfortable win.
Bruno Onyemaechi: 7/10
Operated from the left-back position and looked at home despite only making his debut for the Eagles.
Wilfred Ndidi: 7/10
Provided the assist for the Eagles’ second goal by Ademola Lookman. Had an overall impressive outing before going off.
Frank Onyeka: 6/10.
Another player who put in a good shift by helping in defence and also bombed forward when necessary.
Kelechi Iheanacho: 8/10
Pulled the strings in the attacking midfield position and rounded off his display with a brilliant lobbed pass to Taiwo Awoniyi to make it 3-0.
Ademola Lookman: 8/10
Was very lively throughout the time he spent on the pitch. Provided the assist for the first goal by Victor Osimhen before also getting on the score sheet.
Taiwo Awoniyi: 8/10.
Was a handful for the visitors and was duly rewarded with a world class strike. He received a pass from Iheanacho with his chest and volleyed into the net.

No cap tie game for Tourigha . Well he will have another day to prove himself worthy. Peseiro is a no nonsense coach. He believes in this team that is why he accepted a pay cut because he sees opportunity for his lot to rise if he can perform magic at the nation cup
The fear of Super Falcons is the beginning of wisdom. I never believed in Randy Waldrum until FIFA WWC in Australia.Man was so good at the WC that all his players walked straight back into their first teams with ease.Jose Paseiro has seen something in the SE for him to accept a pay cut. We saw Iheanacho of 2013 FIFA u17 WC.The real number 10 role was on display. Picking up lose balls from deep and creating countless opportunities up front and he eventually clicked with Awoniyi his 2013 classmate for the third goal . Chukwueze also repeated 2015 heroics with Osimhen for the fifth goal.
The team still needs a no10 or attacking midfielder like Bruno Fernandez, Odeegard, Maddison, KDB
May be u go ask them to change nationality and play for us now.
