Jose Peseiro has said his Super Eagles players are sad and upset after their shock defeat to Guinea-Bissau.
A first half goal from Mama Balde saw the Djurtus earned a shock 1-0 win in Group A of the 2023 AFCON qualifiers on Abuja.
The win took Guinea-Bissau to top in the group on seven points while the Super Eagles are second on six points.
And reflecting on the defeat, Peseiro however stated that his team will play the reverse fixture with commitment and sacrifice.
“We are sad and upset with this bad result. But we played a good game, very attacking, and created many goalscoring opportunities that unfortunately we didn’t take,” Peseiro wrote on Twitter.
“We want to repeat this performance in Guinea, but scoring. We are going with all our commitment and sacrifice to win.”
The Eagles will be guests to Guinea-Bissau in the second leg on Monday, March 27.

You want to repeat this performance in Guinea. Really?? We don enter one chance o
lol. This time, he added scoring to it. Leaders are seriously thinking with their feet in this country
If you like win the away match by 10 goals, you are not just good enough for this team. Well. You dropped the best GK on current form, selected the laziest and tactlesd CB to start, you ignored our best midfielders, and selected bench warmers ahead of regular starters..
Pesseiro you are a lame duck coach who is under Picnic and Eguzero control..
I do understand your contract will end in a couple of month. The nff should just let this guy and Eguavoen go..
Go get Emenalo or Olofin as the Technical Director. If you can’t afford a good foreign coach, go get Olise and Egbo as the coach.
This “Pasero” is lazy that’s why he picked bench warmers. He doesn’t understand Africa rugged football. Their scouting guy is also lazy. There are players, well active and rugged…..go to Rennes in France, certain Ugochukwu,a defensive midfielder, his range and current form is better than Ndidi now. Players in Udenese that can give up option and solid midfield if we have to adopt 352….Udogie and Ehizibu( they can get these players commit for Nigeria if they ate serious)….rugged and strong. They will give the present players a run for their money. Most of The present players lack fighting spirit but few like the new no2,osimeh,Iwobi and Zeidu. Zeidu even tried to picked coz he’s aware of Bruno waiting in line. Nff…the worst of all, can’t think out of the box to equip and strengthen the technical staff, always complaining of lack of fund, owing of technical staff and even the players, bad pitch as big as the country is!…..they don’t deserve to be in that office. God help Nigeria
The NIGERIAN coach was dressed like a SITE PLANNER on the touchline lol
No na. Give him some respect lol. Site engineer is a better word. He is engineering chaos in a national team and the nation is helplessly watching on and doing nothing. Nigeria is hopeless
A whole lot is wrong with the SE set up.
Lack of quality personnel in the goalkeeping, defence and in the midfield areas have been a source of concern. The team’s tactical nuances have come under serious questioning in the wake of defeats in 4 games. Worthy of mention is the players’ low morale. At this rate, it does feel we don’t need to have full complement of foreign based players to prosecute match involving African opposition. Most of our players aren’t good fit for African football the like of Lookman, Akpoguma….It’s no use inviting foreign based players when they’re not suited to African football. We need to revamp our leagues and unearth those young talents with the right mindset to fill in in games of this magnitude. With a functioning football league, we should be able to find solid DM with imposing figures and strong physicality and decent passing range to play against oppositions as Guinea Bissau and the rest. Ndidi’s loss of form came to the fore last night and his lack of game time at Leicester does not come as a surprise with yesterday’s outing.
This coach is a shit hole. How many games has he lost so far? 8 out of 9. He is a failure all the way. They will not qualify for AFCON. No way they will beat their opponent at home. We beg him to call for Victor Boniface and Oban and he said no. Everybody are so sure that this is the end of the road for the Nigeria team.
Morocco slugging it out with Brazil 1-1 and we’re leading before a Caemiro equalizer but my poor country Losing to a 180th ranked team..
Morocco beat Brazil….lol We have been left behind honestly
I will not watch or support super eagles until they get rid of this clown. This man is a serial looser. He’s never won anything. He must go.
Yeye man, is this how you wanna win AFCON? Qualify first now. He need to be fire with immediate effect. Clown if a coach.
