Former Cote d’Ivoire captain, Didier Drogba has warned the Elephants the Super Eagles will make things difficult for them at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations.
The Elephants and Super Eagles are drawn in Group A along with Equatorial Guinea and Guinea-Bissau.
The two former champions will clash at the Alhassane Quattara Stadium, Ebimpe, Abidjan on January 18.
Drogba stated that Super Eagles have a number of quality players in their ranks which makes them a difficult opponent.

“There’s no such thing as a generous draw because all the teams deserve to be here and they’re going to fight,” Drogba told the BBC.
“Nigeria, with Victor Osimhen and all the players they have, is a big team. We mustn’t forget the other two teams because there are always surprises.”
“I think that our main asset will be to focus on our game, our team, our strengths and try to progress. It’s up to us to make the most of it, get behind our team and make sure the trophy stays at home.”
Cote d’Ivoire will host the 2023 AFCON finals from January 13 to February 11.

Paul Bassey made sure that Emmanuel Dennis is included in the SE’ team list leaving out Gift Orban.
The same Paul Bassey may not be unconnected with fatai Osho’s display of shame at Akwa united
Drogba the diplomat. Well chosen words.
Yes, Nigeria has a big squad. But where is the administrative support?
The biggest challenge facing our boys is finding a way to succeed in spite of NFF ONIGBESE, THE ENEMY WITHIN. The Super Falcons have shown them the way.
NFF is the toughest opponent we will be facing at the upcoming Afcon.
Even with good administration, things will not be easy. Ivory Coast has a really good squad, and will be very hard to beat. The other teams in the group are not coming for sight seeing. We have to be ready to fight very hard.
Incompetent administration makes the task even more difficult.
Best wishes to the SE squad.
Nigeria cannot be a threat so long as a coach with unpaid salaries manages the Super Eagles Nigerians have no brains! Peseiro has them by the balls!!
